    HEMA Explorer North America

In simple "app" terms - when will we see a version update, and what will that version update include to address concerns of current HEMA customers? That's all that's being asked.

    HEMA Explorer North America

Seems I'll have to retract my kudo's shared earlier in the thread on the ability of the magazine to refrain from excess hyperbole or fanboyism when reviewing products. The new issue of OJ offers a glowing review of the HEMA North America app, with nary a single criticism of the app or its...

    HEMA Explorer North America

Ahhh, yes that article was here on the website rather than the magazine itself. To me, the most glaring bit of misinformation in that article was the claim that the North American app was based completely on the software HEMA offered in Oz - something we now know to be entirely false. To be...

    BEWARE OF RTIC COOLERS

What's really important to note about coolers is that, when Luke Bryant stops his show and pulls a beer out of a cooler onstage on his current tour, he pulls it out of a YETI :)

    HEMA Explorer North America

I haven't read anything in Overland Journal that has any "fanboy" overtones at all? Just general interest stories about HEMA being in North America, and well deserved credit for what they've accomplished in Oz. HEMA are in solely in charge of their own reputation (for better or worse) here in...

FWC Price Increase Coming on Dec. 1st, 2016

Wages, insurance, facility upgrades, transportation of raw materials and finished goods, and probably another dozen elements only ever go UP, never down. In general terms, reduced retail pricing on products is really only seen when truly innovative companies seek new efficiencies in design...

    HEMA Explorer North America

It begins to look like HEMA simply choked here in North America: No information updates for customers or potential customers. No app updates since the introduction. Issues which have been clearly identified remain completely unattended to (with no updates, this is not surprising). No...

    A Hawk in the Arctic

Digging into the Total Composites website, it appears that these are the very composites that XP Camper and Mark (Jeep) use in (some or all?) of the construction of their units. Very interesting!

Great post, thanks for the links!

    A Hawk in the Arctic

A lot of companies are marketing what is essentially a fiberglass camper with insulation and/or other materials bonded to the inside of the fiberglass. But to me, these aren't a true contemporary composite camper, where the structure, insulation, and outer and inner finishes are all bonded...

    HEMA Explorer North America

Geez Shane, this doesn't exactly inspire an abundance of confidence in my weekend purchase of the HEMA app!

    A Hawk in the Arctic

Mark's the guy I'm actually watching to do something like a fully composite sandwich truck camper! (how did you guess that?). I'm reasonably local to him, and some of the designs he's come up with to date are pretty cutting edge. He's got his composite flat deck rig on the go, and is on the...

    A Hawk in the Arctic

With high-tech new sandwich composites coming to market as quickly as they currently are, and in the process becoming more and more affordable to use in RV construction, I think the concept of a completely uninsulated RV likely isn't sustainable in the long term. When you introduce altitude into...

    HEMA Explorer North America

Downloaded HEMA North America and will try it out. Seems not to have been updated since its introduction though, and not very much information to be had on how the North American app is progressing in terms of development and future plans.

    A Hawk in the Arctic

The OP's post has opened my eyes in terms of FWC's ability to provide a comfortable camping experience in other than a warm, dry environment. Although though having researched the crap out of the Granby, and knowing condensation was a reality, the amount of condensation highlighted in sg1's post...

    MotionX Download Question

You download them directly into the app. It's the app that's doing the downloading, after you steer it to what you want to download. You don't seem to be able to separate the map tiles (at least the ones I've downloaded, which include Google Maps) from the app itself.

    MotionX Download Question

Downloading some of the advanced MotionX maps can literally take days. Planning a lengthy road trip can mean you're downloading maps for weeks. It's the biggest design flaw in an otherwise excellent app.

Not so new kid on the block. We are here to help with your RTT needs!

This is actually a very small community, one built primarily on trust and honest communication. I'm not sure your blaming this all on an "outside marketing company" really carries any (or enough) weight to outdo the damage that the dishonesty has done to your company. You may wish to address...

Truck Camping / Dirt biking West coast and BC

Check out the (new and used) truck and camper prices for B.C. here to start: http://www.usedvictoria.com/ https://vancouver.craigslist.ca/search/rva Your budget might not accommodate a truck and camper purchase in B.C. Two popular hard-side brands (both made in B.C.) are Bigfoot and Northern...

Google Hybrid Maps no longer open source?

That would suck, as it's probably one of the most useful features in MotionX (even though it's not really considered an "approved" use of the download function).
