Is there a relay that will allow me to do this? Powering weboost from truck battery while driving and house battery while parked.

You seem to be WAY over complicating this. Doesn't it have a power switch? I can't understand the problem you are trying to solve. (Sorry, I'm dense on occasion. :( ) When do you want it off and can't you simply turn it off with its own switch?

Is there a relay that will allow me to do this? Powering weboost from truck battery while driving and house battery while parked.

I think the key element here is that a cell booster simply does not draw enough power to worry about unless your camper battery is REALLY small. And, of course, when the engine is running, it should be charging the camper battery; there is no reason to switch to the engine directly unless your...

Is there a relay that will allow me to do this? Powering weboost from truck battery while driving and house battery while parked.

Yes. Use a crossover relay. Energized it connects one way (e.g., engine running), engine off, it connects another way. You will have to scratch yer head a bit. The terminal that is generally labeled as "power" will probably actually be your load. But it isn't hard once you get it. All of that...

Parts and service for MB SK platform

Mercedes dealers won't talk to you. Your best/only bet is independent diesel shops. Many of them won't touch you either, as they cannot get parts. These folks are always helpful: https://www.ln2-forum.de/

Welcome to the madness! I, too, have a short cab/short wheelbase. The short cab can be hard on the knees and the short wheelbase gets exciting in mud and snow!

    Charging trailer battery

I love, and use, REDARC toys. But let us be clear - The BCDC 1212 only charges at 12A. If that is enough, great. But do be sure that your 7- pin connector wire is rated for at least 15A or so over the distance of your wire run. The REDARC can't make electricity out of nothing...

    Greasing Front Wheel Hubs

Talk to Rob Pickering. FWIW, I thought that the front bearings were lubed from the axle shaft. Also ask Stefan. Be interested in what you learn and, perhaps, sharing the cost of the tool, if needed.

best materials to use for interior construction - not wood

8020 extrusions and high-quality plywood. You can also buy various plys that are covered with plastic or similar coatings. Those nice, glued composites, etc., can be a maintenance nightmare unless you build a lot of doors, by which time you have probably lost the weight advantage. And wait...

What is your actual solar panel current?

I have found the old rule of thumb, 5A @ 12v per 100w of panel, to be pretty close. More in good sun and cooler weather. Of course, the actual output will depend on the demand from the battery.

how to design a water system that is operational below freezing

Operational below freezing? No problem, Wesbasto, Espar, and probably Truma make lots of systems that will heat your water and your camper. You DO have to make sure that all of your lines, pumps, etc. are inside the heated camper. Non-operational, i.e. storage is actually harder. Here you have...

Nobody visits the CAR: https://pbase.com/diplostrat/car These are all safe for the workplace photos. A few more tomorrow. Overland through Niger, Chad, Central African Republic

OK, you asked. It is an armored personnel carrier with a grenade launcher on top. Used to carry troops into battle, it is protected against small arms fire. If you could actually get the wrecks out, there is a lot of metal to reclaim. But it is too heavy to carry too far to any form of smelter...

OK, to be REALLY pedantic. It was the Toyota war because: -- A Toyota at over 80 kmph will typically not explode an anti-vehicle mine, or it will be moving fast enough that the blast will be behind it. -- At that speed, it is moving too fast for the turret of the Russian tanks used by the...

    Off-Grid A/C questions!

My rule of thumb has always been 5A per 100w of solar. More modern panels may get a bit more, but allowing for clouds, trees, etc., 5A has been a good planning point. You might, indeed, see a 50% duty cycle, but for planning, you are better off assuming 100%. This past summer, we were looking...

    Off-Grid A/C questions!

Short answer is. "probably not." Guesstimate about 50A DC @ 12v for every hour the air conditioner runs. May be a bit higher by day, lower by night. Call it 10 hours of run and you are looking at around 500Ah. So: -- Put 1000w+ on the roof and you have about 50A per hour with good sun. You...

    Theory of Battery Chargers

I hate it when I agree with john! (What's the fun in that?) ;) The simplest charger is simply another, fully charged battery. Put 'em together and eventually (determined by the size of the wire) they will reach the same state of charge. The lower battery will pull down the charged battery and...
