Your biggest issue is lost generation due to heat. Hot car sitting in a hot spot you'll loose 50% of what little generation a small panel on the dash would generate 10watt panel at most with 30-50% loss from high temps your looking at about .5 amp generation. Not worth it.
If your in SF know your height restrictions. My stock 93 LC on 285's would scratch the SFO short term parking roof with my Yakima rack installed. I had a spare inch without rack at home for the garage. It was nice knowing the LC would fit parking garages at least barely with a occasional rub...
I sold a lathe and templates used in the 50’s to make conversion plates to put Chevy V8’s in old Fords that had strait 6’s. This was in Burbank when Bobs Big Boy was Cruise central. My father inlaw grew up two blocks from there and his dad made some good money on the side making plates for the...
The livinlite bunk bed 16footer is one we have seen a couple of times with a family of 4 all of them have had great things to say about it. My only hang up is I like having multi use trailers a true RV trailer will sit for months unused. That and being able to toss boats (short ones) bikes etc...
Our setup for the last 6 yrs has been a lifetime tent trailer. Two queen sized bunks with a 4x6 floor on a trailer thats 5.5wide at the fenders and 12ft long end to end 900lbs empty. Its great, but the setup time sucks. We only typically camp between March 1st and at the latest early /mid...
My family of 4 two under 8 does best with base camp style trips the constant on the go trips dont go over so well. We do day trips exploring around base camp, which case the trailer approach works well. That and more space. The down side? I like boats, ones you tow.. At some point my rig will...
Ive been thinking about our setup and what would be a great setup. For one with kids and our lifetime tent trailer we only base camp with it due to setup and tear down plus the wife and kids do better with the base camp then do day trips exploring the area model. Vs constantly on the move new...
Check out pipe rack / cots used on racing sailboats. They are simple, light and typically fold up against a wall without taking up too much space. You can probably rig a three stack on one wall if your really creative on spacing. We do it on the racing boats, but were usually dead tired and...
Its not a tent trailer but its trailer based Tent camping. Its a project to set up, but the space and the utility/hauling ability makes for flexable use. The lack of secure ie locked gear storage while in road mode sucks for hotel stays, which case those trips we stow everything in the truck...
This was a two family weekend trip. My wife and our Friends husband both had to work late on a Friday. So we loaded two families worth of crap 4 kids two parents who could leave early Friday, and headed to the lake. Two boats the one on top is my little 13ft RS Feva euro juniors racing sailboat...
Nope realestate is to costly and CA is short on housing far far from ever being able to remove old structures. All our brick houses have already been knocked down. My 1920's SF property gets upgrades every few yrs, it built out of blood red heart wood Redwood that will never be seen again in...
Be sure the wife is ok with the taco ride/comfort. I know many people who sold their tacos due to its ride quality. Which seems to surface as you get older.

Gut it do a high end renovation and have plenty left over for toys, gas and booze
I have a theory. This is about loss mitigation, cummings isn't doing this out of kindness its a bean counter world they have a end of life cycle for each engine and they want that cycle to end in the black. If they sell out this batch theyll up the price and or swap to the distributors to take...
One thought. We have a simlle popup trailer. The one big factor I see regarding a vehicle tent and a trailer. With kids we base camp and do day trips from camp. Which case a vehicle tent would be a huge pita to set up and tear down everyday.
I think ultimately a pickup with a light setup like...
True except most wood structures built in the last 50yrs rarely have more than minor damage. And most people are way under insured so focused on the lowest monthly cost they kinda miss the point of having insurance. Quake insurance isnt worth it, for s fraction of the cost we simply upgrade our...
