Wheel Adapter I'm running factory Toyota Off-Road wheels- 16 x 7.00 - with 235/85R16 Cooper STMAXX tires mounted on the wheels. I have about 3" clearance between the inside of the tire and trailer. The outside of the tire sits flush with the outside edge of the 12" fender. I love the setup!

Trailer- Bearings One other thing I might mention is in regards to the trailer wheel bearings. I had a couple of bearing failures on my Chaser running the 37" tires and a 3" wheel adapter. Mario, from Adventure Trailers, and I had several conversations trying to determine the cause of the...

Wheel Adapter IMHO, The adapter would be an easier/quicker change out. Adapter is probably cheaper as well. Running with: Wheel: Factory TRD Off-Road 16x7.00 Wheel Offset = +32 mm - Back Space = 5.25" Inches Tire: 255/85R16 Adapter: No spacer It appears to me that the inboard side of the...

Wheel Adapter I believe the overall width of the adapter is 2.5". I'll double check when I'm back home on Sunday. I too, am not sure what the backspace is on the Tacoma wheel. I know that I did measure it when ordering the adapter. Do you have the Tacoma wheels to measure from? What size...

Wheel Adapter Yes, the adapter is a 2 piece unit. Make sure the adapter that attaches to the trailer hub is thick enough that the trailer hub's studs are recessed below the face of the first part of the adapter. The "part one" of my adapter is 1 1/2" thick. (stud length was 1 3/8") The...

Wheel Adapters I used adapters purchased from http://www.motorsport-tech.com/wheel_adapters.html to convert my AT Chaser and my AT Teardrop from a Jeep bolt pattern to the Tacoma. Really convenient, and safer, to be able to change the trailer to run the same wheels and tires as the tow...

Haggling.... Don't know about other builders, but AT Overland Equipment does not negotiate prices. (I've bought 2 trailers from them.) If you question the value provided by a particular builder, use the competitive marketplace to find the best value for you. I wouldn't worry much about...

If you are thinking of adding a heater to the SoCal, you should take a look at one that has a heater installed. Mine is mounted behind the lower drawer, on the left side of the galley. The bottom portion of that drawer is made about 10" shorter on the bottom to allow room to mount the heater...

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

If you look at the data, you will see a very high correlation between shootings (gun violence) and drug activity. No one ever mentions this. It is a very similar statistic if you look at the high correlation between low income areas in metropolitan areas, drug activity, and gun violence. This...

No, and now I am beginning to see why you have taken the position you have. Your friend/s are fools.

I think the internet, once again, failed to communicate the sarcasm of Noel's post. At least that is how I read it. (you might have missed the "LOL", at the end.)

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

For some reason I read your earlier post that you had very little exposure to firearms. Glad to hear that isn't the case. I'm curious, what makes you most nervous about traveling with those that choose to travel with a firearm?

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

I read in your earlier posts that you have no experience with firearms. I understand your apprehension around them. IMHO, and as has been shown in my training, as long as the firearm stays holstered, you are in very little danger. I have yet to see a holstered, or cased, firearm discharge...

Sorry LynneB. Went back and reread. It appears you are worried about accidental injury caused by firearms. I got it now. To your point, in my experience, negligent discharges (unintentional firing of a firearm) are relatively rare. Here's a case in point, real world stuff: I've spent an...

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

No, I would have to disagree again. A firearm does NOT automatically turn a "non-serious" incident into a serious incident. That is always determined by the players in the incident. If a firearm is only drawn/brandished when there is an imminent threat of death or serious bodily injury to...

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

Some thoughts for LocoC Agree. I know way too many CCW permit holders that don't take continual training seriously. Gun handling, like most skills, is perishable. You MUST practice and train to stay proficient. It takes a lot of time and $'s to stay proficient. I've found most are...
