Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

Sorry, but I would never think to ask if someone minded if I joined a conversation around a campfire while carrying a firearm. Maybe it's my bad upbringing, or simply because I am NOT politically correct, or maybe it wouldn't dawn on me that someone is uncomfortable in the presence of a safely...

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

If you got 'em, carry 'em- one sheriff's perspective Not really applicable to carrying while camping, but applicable to the discussion in general. Here it is from one NY Sheriff's perspective: NY Sheriff encourages licensed gun owners to take up arms

Do you feel the need to be unarmed and defensless while camping?

Wow! From your arguments and condescending tone of your very first statement, sounds like you are, and will be, very happy living in Germany. Being American (US citizen?) a problem??? Funny, that thought has never occurred to me. I know that probably wasn't what you meant...but you did...

Beware the hi-lift assault weapon :)

Too funny! Wouldn't it be nice if people would return to thinking for themselves instead of being overly influenced by the media's hyperbole. Absolutely hilarious!

Hannibal Awning for me I'm using the Hanibal Awning. hannibal awnings. Love that there are no poles or guys to set. I also purchased the wall set. If you are considering, these have quite a looonnnggg lead time. SoCal can modify the roof rack so this is a simple bolt on install. We just...

Leaks? I've tested mine plenty at highway speeds through torrential rain and wind. (rain going sideways, type of torrential rain) Came through unscathed. Anymore, I don't give leaks a second thought.

Door Gap I believe the handle braces are built with a bit a camber to them. Maybe all you need is another set, that has a bit more camber, to help the door seal against the weather stripping. Just my $0.02.

Door Seal Had a similar door seal issue with my AT/SoCal teardrop. I was sent a set braces that take any warpage out of the door. The braces are made from baltic birch, with the same quality as the rest of the trailer. As well as solving the problem, they make for a great interior handle to...

Trailer- Electrical, Ventilation, Water ELECTRICAL: I have two, group 31 batteries in my trailer. (Deka Intimidator AGM #8A31DTM) These batteries are rated at 105 mins @ 20amps. Just keep in mind when sizing the electrical storage that realistically you only have access to about 50% of the...

Aqua Cube- Can't recomend Have to vote against the Aqua Cube. I bought one and used it for 2 trips (~15 days). It didn't work well at all. I could not get it to work consistently with propane from my 11 lb tanks. After going back to the 1 lb'rs, the electronics kept randomly shutting the...

Heater Male Propane Quick Connect Cap While we are on the subject of heaters, does anyone know where you can purchase a cap to cover the male fitting of a quick connect coupler? The teardrop's heater uses this type of fitting for the propane line. (see photo below) I've been using blue...

Heater Efficiency Chris, I think you'll find the HeatSource heaters sip propane. I had one of the portable "toolbox" HeatSource heaters with the Chaser and now have the same heater in the teardrop. I've used the heater for a week long hunt in Kansas where the night time lows were in the...

    Expedition Overland 2013 Tacoma Build

ARE CX Toolbox- bottom shelf width? I have been looking at the A.R.E. CX topper for my Tacoma. I, like you, wanted a toolbox for quick access to commonly used items and to help clean up the bed of the truck. My salesman told me the bottom width of the toolbox was only 7 5/8". It looks...

So Cal Leak? I did have a leak around the driver's side, cabin door when I first got my TD. I had driven through a torrential downpour for over 30 minutes. I was traveling 55-60mph, with the rain going sideways onto the trailer. (It was a really bad storm!) Called AT when I got home...

    Moby1 owners?

I ordered mine on 11-16-2012, took delivery 3-20-2013. My teardrop was purchased through Adventure Trailers. (SoCal's coach mounted on AT's frame and suspension setup.) I had been running a Chaser for the last 2.5 years and had developed a high confidence level in AT's suspension setup. I was...
