What do you use for a truck gun?

Yup. I have one (18") and like it a lot. Just wish Ruger went with PMags M3's instead of a proprietary magazine ... Anyhow, occasionally, it comes along for the ride, but more often I just have a 3" GP100 in .357. Far fewer headaches.

Danner Mountain Light II - An on-going review

Another Danner MTLII fan here. I have 2 pairs as I rotate them regularly. I put a lot of desert miles on my boots, and I am VERY HARD on soles. The "clean" pair is going in for it's first recraft. The soles are worn down and shot. The dirty pair has been recrafted 3 times now. The leather...

Very nice 240. Such a good vehicle, back when a Volvo was well a Volvo.

    4.56 or 4.88s?

I have read on a number of occasion that the D30 is not compatible with gears larger than 4.56 due to pinion size. But, I have no direct experience with this. Anyhow, I really like my 4.56 gears. I have a manual transmission.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

The more I see it the more I think the bed overhang looks out of proportion, imho, like an afterthought.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

While true about hype pricing, the Rubicon trim JL MSRP starts in the 40's, so JT will likely still be high 40's before creature comforts.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Me. In the other trending, related thread, I said that a $49k Tradesman PW looks to be a better option than a $60k+ Gladiator. And yeah ... a lot has to do with value analysis of comparable running gear. True, ofc, a 2500 has its limitations as a trail rig and a DD. But, then so does the...

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Absolutely. If the folks here were truly representative of the typical car buyer, there would be no automotive industry as we know it. The fancy dealerships and what not are not geared to people who buy vehicles for very long periods of time. In a sense, poor financial decisions by a...

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

^^^ Agree. I know this requires broad appeal to all the soccer moms and yoga instructors (else it becomes unobtainium), but the J series trucks are perfect, visually.

100% agree. The size of the 2500 is a serious limitation; it is a compromise in and of itself.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Not necessarily. A Tradesman 2500 with the PW package is $49k on the configurator, iirc, which will probably be less than the Rubicon version of the Gladiator. Therein lies a dilemma. Creature comforts aside, does one pay more for less? *** Aesthetics are ofc purely opinion, but I...

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Agree. Lower gears, OR TC, Dana 44 fr/rr lockers will only be available on the Rubicon trim equivalent of the JT. Perfect PW, but if only this configuration came with a stick ... Sigh.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Agree 100% Truck pricing is irrational. TFL posted a video yesterday of the new Silverado 1500 configured at $68K ... There is a lot I could do with that money, but buying a light duty pick up is not high on the list.

New Jeep Pick Up to be unveiled...The Gladiator

Yes. Unless it is $60k vehicle ... Considering that the Scrambler(?) will be priced at a premium and a fully optioned Rubicon JL is in the $50k neighborhood, I fear $60k may not be an exaggeration. At that price point, a PW looks affordable. :(
