Thanks! Another gear addiction added to the list. Looks like you've got some sweet out of the way spots up by you too. I'd like to get up that way soon for some fishing and camping.
For anyone with an Ayer considering the Teton Sports double bag, it definitely will not fit inside the tent with it closed. That's a deal breaker for me so it's going back. Unfortunate because it seems like it would be warm and comfy.
If anyone knows of any other double sleeping bags that are...
I found what I think was a pretty good deal on an Ayer in our local classifieds. It had only been slept in 3 times and shows it. The cover is a little faded from being in the sun for a summer but everything else seems brand new.
I've got 2 things I was wondering about.
The zipper for the...
I don't have much to compare it to but I've been super happy with my 60s or 70s era Coleman 425 dual burner. Sometimes a little more cooking space would be nice but usually it's just me and the wife and it's fine for that. I like the fact that I'm not filling up landfills with 1lb propane...
I just sent prinsu an email to see if there's any chance the 4runner rack could work for a 100 series. I also offered up my vehicle as a test vehicle since it looks like I live very close to him. I'll let you know if anything comes of it.
The tread on my current pizza cutters is getting low and lately I've been thinking that I'd like something a little meatier, something with a bit more aggressive tread and more width. While the van doesn't see any serious offroad it does see plenty of rocky dirt roads.
I believe it has the...

I'm considering a TC because it would mean eliminating one vehicle and the maintenance cost...
thanks Jb1rd. That's interesting. The plate of steel that I have doesn't look like it's long enough to span the center hole of the rim but I can probably find one of those pretty easily. Do you have any concerns that there's basically 1 bolt supporting the entire weight of your spare on...
guess I left myself open to that one. I've got nuts, 2 of them actually. ;) I thought I had kept everything when I took this off but that plate shown in the picture doesn't seem to match up with any 2 holes on the rim in any way that makes sense.
spencyg, appreciate that info but...
I'm getting my van (1990 E350 econoline) ready for a month long road trip through the PNW and up into BC and one of my prep tasks is to get the spare tire back where it belongs. A few years ago I took it off so that I could fit a friends bike rack on, the tire was in the way. It's been off...
