    WTB: Pelican 1490 case

Hey Dan. Don't sweat the long delay in response. He seems like a busy dude, but he'll get back to you.

    WTB: Pelican 1490 case

Hit up CrashBar via PM. I just recently got one of several 1490's that he's got. $50 shipped to NorCal. Great shape, just missing foam (as advertised).

Well, I'm looking forward to seeing what you've got to offer. If yours is tough and you can get to market fast, then you'll be good to hook. Best of luck!

TundraBirds Go! Picture Thread for Tundras and T-100s

That's a great looking truck, Rick. I'm following your build thread, and man, you are braver than I am when it comes to cutting pieces off of your truck.

HAM Mobile: Rig Radios, vehicle mounting set ups, and relevant equipment

I was gonna start another thread for my own install, but luckily I found this thread, and hopefully this photo album will be useful to other hams (or CBers) who want to hardmount their radios to their trucks. Yaesu FT-8800R install in 2005 Toyota Tundra AC

Holy crap, dude. Great to hear that it's not cancerous. That thing was hideous, though. Get well soon.

    What Are You Running?

I just completed an install of a Yaesu FT-8800R/E in the Tundra. Antenna is a Comet SBB2NMO 1/4 wave antenna that I mounted in the middle of my roof after I poked a 3/4" hole there with a unibit. I also use a Baofeng UV-5R in my commuter car with a Tram 1185 mag mount antenna. The UV-5R comes...

Nice! I'm a woodworker, also. Do you have plans for this? Maybe a Sketchup file?

    Camp Caddy (Kickstarter)

Seems like a nice replacement for the discontinued CampMates. What do you fellas think? Seems a bit steep at $200, but I think I'm being a miser, here. Anybody with CampMates have an opinion on this? I am not affiliated with this item...

The War Wagon: A 2005 Toyota Tundra AC's transformation to Overlanding Rig

Ham[mer] Time! Lots of pictures! Okay, got the Yaesu FT-8800R installed! This was quite an involved installation process and took two afternoons after work, which was mostly because I only barely have a clue what I'm doing when it comes to this stuff. Luckily, I've got the /r/amateurradio...

    Baofeng UV5R "Builder Brackets"

Hey Klayton - Got the bracket, painted it up, and installed it in my commuter using a PanaVise mount. Funny that the mount was 3x the cost of the bracket, but whatcha gonna do? Anyway, I used a lock washer on the bolt side and a star washer on the bracket side, and it's on there pretty solid...

    Baofeng UV5R "Builder Brackets"

This is such a killer piece of kit. Can you put me in for one, as well? I'll be using my Baofeng as a stopgap mobile rig until I can put away enough money for the radio that I want, and even after that, the Baofeng will live semi-permanently in my commuter car. This is perfect for that.

The War Wagon: A 2005 Toyota Tundra AC's transformation to Overlanding Rig

Thank you, Rick. That's a helluva compliment. Just for knowing - changing the front bumper really took a chunk out of my fuel "economy." I snicker as I write the word "economy" while referencing a V8 pickup. Okay, so what's new? Ah, right. Comms. I really, really dislike the idea of being...

Show us your Toyota 4runner, tacoma or truck.

I've always wondered if the racks on those utility toppers had a dynamic load limit capable of supporting an RTT. Very cool.
