    Insurance help needed??

Sadly we fall in the gray- NC law says more than 4 vehicles sold/yr = dealer license. When applying, we have to affirm we sell 12+/yr and have a store front with receptionist/salesman 8hr/day. The real irony is DMV treats us as a dealer, without the benefits of course, like dealer tags providing...

Ron- did you get my PM about some Series bits?

    Insurance help needed??

Thanks Mog Good news today, Nationwide did find a source, $550/yr for commercial liability, with the option to change to RV once converted, and no time stipulation for the transformation. Now, hopefully the inspection for the PO goes well, and a title is forthcoming!! The PO acquired it from...

Lockers, gear ratio, tire size, etc?? Very cool Classic, seems well built and apparently used as intended- sweet!!

    Insurance help needed??

Yea, I am holding the farm route as my back stop if I cannot do it otherwise. Frustrating part is 40+ years with Nationwide and not a single claim, but no consideration or attempt to step out of the box... Very tempted to find commercial coverage, and move everything! Thanks- for your thoughts...

    Insurance help needed??

Thanks for the feedback- I am familiar with the 'agreed' value and 'stated' value, but all I really need initially is liability- willing to risk the truck if need be, but this becomes an issue even getting it home. Luckily the seller has an issue or two and needs a couple weeks obtaining title...

    Insurance help needed??

Some of you may have seen I am in the process of buying an International 4300 to convert to a camper/travel rig. I am having issues getting it insured with my carrier- Nationwide. They contend it is in need of a commercial policy which I am happy to do, but they say they cannot get it...

International 4300 DT466 Allison Automatic Polished wheels low mileage - $22999 (scot

I'll try, though not my strong suit. I am just finishing up my new '13 F-150 and several guys have asked for that build as well- shoot, I don't even do build threads on the website for Defender builds as it is time consuming, and we are busy, building… I am very optimistic about this...

International 4300 DT466 Allison Automatic Polished wheels low mileage - $22999 (scot

Thanks everyone, just hope we don't joke on this mouthful ;-) Doubtful it will get 4wd, but very likely winch and rear locker, super singles??...

    Some Series Advice

Not many usable bits on this old girl, other than a Capstin winch ;-) and the hopefully good engine, but let me know if you need something specific.

    Some Series Advice

Not sure if I should post this yet or not, but what the heck!! I am retrieving a basket case 88" this w/e I already purchased- had to finish a project here first to get enough room for all the parts. Point being, it is a '70 late II-a w/ only 33k miles from NC. Here is the best part- it threw a...

[YEAR 7!] Quit our jobs, sold our home, gone riding...

The above two post are exactly why we are taking our kids on such an adventure- but it is amazing the close mindedness of most people. They think we are either nuts for taking them into such a potentially dangerous environment (the majority), or extatic we are exposing them to other cultures and...

Next Generation Defender must be "more desirable to look at"

Funny actually about the sales and such- as most of the 2015 production run is spoken for already- Defenders that is...

What do you think makes a good travel blog?

I believe the writer has a great deal to do with the success of the blog. I am an engineer, and thus not too wordy nor descriptive on 'our travel time', yet enjoy a well written blog- if it is pertinent. I think many of us will read a less than interesting blog IF it contains info that is of...

[YEAR 7!] Quit our jobs, sold our home, gone riding...

I think we got a very skewed view of agriculture in Guatemala, because when I did some research later on, I was surprised to learn that the country cannot grow enough crops to feed their own population, having to import grains and other foods. Although we were travelling through fertile lands...

    Skid plates for sale

I too have bought a couple Asfir bits from Oliver and very well pleased. One thing to note- the F-150/Raptor skid is not compatable with Ecoboost...

    ExploringNH's 2000 Ford Excursion build

Thanks- your's is looking sweet!! I had the Buckstop on a previous truck and liked it. This time around I went lighter with an Asfir, which was good as well, albeit 100# lighter. Keep the build/pics coming- well done!!

Family of 4 from Belize to NC the long way...

I agree on the Fuso- I really wanted that truck before Anil got it, but with the kids still young and in school, it didn't make the most sense, sadly. Enjoy, and be safe!! Hey Mark, would love to!! We were hoping to incorporate Expo into the itinerary but couldn't make it happen this go around...
