Well, what makes an overlander is a favorite topic for discussion and I don't think there is a one size fits all definition. Fact is what these clowns did was act like jerks, destroy their vehicles, and trash the areas they were barreling through. They left each other in bad situations so that...
I agree.... They were racing each other without regard for their vehicles, the environment, or each other. Their behavior was not the behavior of overlanders.

I remember this show......came out it 2014 I think.
I found it to be an abomination....a good primer on how not to act off-road. It's guys like these that make overlanding hard on the rest of us.
September is tricky. If the weather plays nice then I agree it is a great time to be up there...but be advised that weather moves fast that high up. Even in August I have had issues with fog and rain.
I seem to have the best luck in deep summer, so July or August is my preference. September...
well, I don't really have a plan (seldom do when driving around down there) but off hand I would say probably not. Col de Tende is on the N/S route between FR/IT and I have covered that area in past years quite a bit. I am more interested in the WW1 roads/forts on the IT/AU boarder area...
anyone interested in a 1978 G wagon?

It turns out this is one of the serial-numbered prototyped G wagons....number 3 to be exact.
I am not affiliated with the seller in anyway...just putting it out there....
The new version is winter rated ( snowflake symbol) as well as reworked....have a look here ( in German)

Granted that I have not tried beer made from pumpkins ( that's sounds terrible btw) but I have tried beverages made from other....stuff....that tried to pass itself off as beer... Let's just say that traditional beers are better. But hey! To each his own.
I have no trouble believing the US is...
Well to each their own of course...but I'd match the worst Belgian and German beers against the best American ones.... And of course there are some really great beers out of Ireland....

No offense brother, but that is something only Americans could think up....
I drink beer because I enjoy it...not because I need a beer for the sake of being able to say I have one. American beer is already crappy as is, but this reaches a new low!
Thank you...that is a useful thing to know and had not occurred to me. I think I will need to look closer at this one before I decide to purchase or not.
