Here is the quote from the home page article...
Thanks for taking the time to reply to my rambling post! Sounds like you have a good plan to me.
I am not familiar with the t-case in these, is it the same as the 80-series too or...?
And yeah if you can keep Rover axles from exploding you...
Wow that is one super clean truck!! Almost looks brand new! Good find on this one. You say on the website interior is like a combo of 70-series and 80-series. Looks more like 70-series and 60-series top me. Those outside mirrors look exactly like FJ62's. The truck to me looks like a 70-series...
I really like the look of your old 60-series. The diesel 80 looks killer too! Good to see somebody soldering their wiring, so many people don't do that. Just picked up a solder station recently myself.
I drove to Panama and back 2x on a set of BFG A/Ts. Not a single flat. I would say it is the number one pick for me for an overland truck.
If something like the KM2 works for you but you don't like performance on ice/snow. Sipe the inner rows of lugs. I did that on my Maxxis Creepies and it...
Some stuff on Jaime's trip in Panama....

I am sure there will be lot's more.
Why not an FJ60? To rugged for the family?
I was going to say at $8k I think he is a bit steep but he came down to $7k. I think it is worth $5-6K as it sits. While he has probably spent several thousands or more on mods, that doesn't make it worth a lot more then something else. Mods never...
When I had my 04 Taco.....I had a red top for starting and a yellow top for the 45L Engel. I had the yellow top on a National Luna dual battery set up. It seemed to me if I didn't start the truck for 2-3 days the Engel would drain the yellow top down dangerously low. Once this happened once or...
Sorry you seem to be having so many problems with you truck....
I found good cheap mechanics in Antigua. It is also a great place to lay low and chill out for awhile.
Nice! Great read and pictures. I love me some Trigger fish tacos! I bet the goat feast was fun and tasty! I was going to head to Agua Verde when I was in Baja but opted out due to a problem with one of my air bags in the suspension. I will have to check it out next time down.
cheers
Oh and...
I dig how the trip report is presented with just pictures and captions. I also like that this guy has balls and humor. I enjoyed going through the pictures.
Funny....
It looks like most of us go prepared which is a good thing! I think the items I have used the most over the years would be my high lift and a shovel.
Nice looking skids shmabs, much better then most of the mass produced junk I see.
BTW, I wasn't saying Scott needs 3/8" skids. Simply that I have bent them. I agree skids are for trashing. 1/8" though, I would trash that super fast. It would work for keeping debris or roadkill from coming up...
