    Mercedes 1222A.. The beginning!

Excellent work @Sitec! I was wondering about shower pans myself, what is the advantage of stainless steel over aluminium?

    1120 AF Build in Norway

So not much "work work" going on here more like planning truck wise and design decisions being made, we are also working on a boat project at the same time so we will be thankful when the truck has finally been shipped to the UK for the real work to start. We are delayed and missed the June...

I just bought a firetruck for a custom overland build!

Wow! a total beast for sure! Welcome to the MB community, you seem to already know your stuff. We bought out truck end of 2020 and knew absolutely zero in regards to trucks. We got tons of project steering advice here and are very thankful for that. One word of warning, we have a build slot...

    Lowly the Lorry. . .

They bolt on nicely don't they! We can thank the feedback from @VerMonsterRV regarding the fitment bushings being modded in the design iteration we got :)

Cool stuff! For sure that is a big step! Nice to Max the Vario also making some progress in the background, he was the one that first got me onto AK, also lives here in Norway.

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Little help is possible, we are picking out our appliances and would appreciate some opinions, so far: I have been looking at what large appliances we will be putting inside. Here they are for now: Fridge (only has 3mm tolerance for getting in the box based on the DE20 L measurement) - we love...

    OLMO782 - WT808 - TJOLE

This was the exact reason we bought our pre-1995 MB. Budget is not the only reason people buy old rigs, we originally were looking at a brand new Iveco eurocargo chassis. Looks like an amazing rig, will be super comfortable and fast i bet! Keep us posted, and detail that stainless steel...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Hi Joe! Driver's cab access is something we've looked a lot at. And the end result is really a legitimate legislation nightmare here in Norway as it would render the existing passenger legislation for 6 passengers (4 when converting to motorhome) invalid as we've compromised the cabin. We've...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

So, no updates in a while, we are busy with other projects right now but will start stripping the drivers cab (as much as possible) before we ship off to the UK next month, the whole build slot has been delayed because of the lead time for the windows and doors, we ordered them last month but...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

That is really good to hear! I mean dropping 10k for windows, doors and hatches is hard to stomach but we are building for the long haul and time saved down the road with extra maintenance will be appreciated.

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Yea, it seems like one of us should start a expedition window company. Certainly room for undercutting the current offerings IMO. The issue with outbound is they are all made in house in NL. That is also the benefit unrelated to cost of labour of course..

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Little update, we have been mostly spending the last 2 months working on a new studio for Thea's business (canemstudio.com) but there has also been a little progress on Gertrude. We have decided firmly on using Atkinson Voss (UK) for the box and subframe build and locked in our build slot with...

    eActros

the problem is they become a real liability on long haul trips. They are incredibly inefficient once the battery is consumed due to their combination of normally gasoline engine, heavy battery and electric motors being dead weight once their short ranges are past.
