    1120 AF Build in Norway

Lots of great insights Iain! We have totally ruined our living room with taped floorplan on the floors and ply and cardboard cutouts of the interior panels :ROFLMAO: It does, and yes it is pretty big, but we need this space as a drying room and also want house a wall mounted washing machine...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Hi Jon, our final interior width is 2303mm and we will be using a 1400*2000 mattress. We were planning on overhead storage only in the bedroom but it might be feasible for a full height bank of cabinets. I am going to work a bit with the overhead cabinets this week, the reason they are not...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

We've been quoted almost 2000€ Vs 370€ euro for off the shelf. Same materials etc. I suppose prices are quite different depending on location and timeline. I contacted some other suppliers too and 2000€ seemed about the meridian for our specific design. I was a long thin tall tank to occupy the...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

The bed height was an issue to be honest. Need the space in the garage for our bikes so after the mattress and base is installed we are left with just over 1m of head height, enough to sit-up in bed comfortably at least but maybe not for me to kneel (194cm). It's always a trade-off ?‍♂️

    1120 AF Build in Norway

A little progress getting the final design finished for the box makers, finally think we have the window positions finalised with the seating heights etc, we have extended the platform a little (now 30cm) and added some tweaks to the width and height now modelled with the foam we will be using...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Thanks for the feedback Jon! We actually measured our truck up for a crawl hatch over the bed, but then we would have to remove the bench seat in the rear of the cab which we really want to keep. And it also massively complicates things with our re-registration process for the truck here if we...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Hi @Sitec ! Thanks for the words of encouragement! We are actually really happy with the design and layout we have already and think we have a really good solution to the stairs/over wheel problem. I'll present that when we have that dialled in CAD because we also want high wheel arches to...

5 Things (or more) you would change after traveling in your truck?

Thanks for all the Advice Jon, I was hoping you would chime in here! Thanks, I have already ordered 18*302AH prismatic cells from China for a 8S2P setup (604A@24V). I will prob end up building 2 separate batteries for some redundancy on the BMS side. I am looking for some nicely sized boxes...

5 Things (or more) you would change after traveling in your truck?

Thanks Iain! Some great insights there, we will be traveling Norway and within the EU in the first couple of years but would love to do a few months in Aus, been following some of your vids and the terrain looks amazing over there! We just ordered a 400L aluminium fuel tank for the drivers...

5 Things (or more) you would change after traveling in your truck?

I suppose this is more for the gravel road hardened truckers that have finished and have experience traveling in their self build/designed rigs. What are some things you would change, planning to change in your design, layout, systems, anything really. Things you would do differently if you had...

    1120 AF Build in Norway

Fair points, but we wanted a "porch" and preferred not to have the stairs receding into the box. Our door is exactly over our rear wheel due to the layout we have chosen (as below, old sketchup drawing, we have now moved to autodesk and still working on those details). The stair will be self...

Nice! these are what I have been looking for, high power usb-c PD chargers for the laptops, since the truck will be my homeoffice for a lot of the year i want to fit a couple of these in the seating area. I will also add a few of the USB chargers of the type @Iain_U1250 linked to around the bed...
