By the way, shipping will cost an arm+leg from AU. I believe Kevin's Offroad will be carrying the AU product lines soon - Uneek, Chief Products, etc. Give them a call.
Here is mine as I was installing it - from Rocky Road Outfitters. The 4 bolts are not required, just there because I was mounting the front metal bumper protector as you see in the second photo. So if I opted for only the syntetic line and aluminum fairlead I could have it looking minimal as the...
That carrier can handle a lot of abuse for as small as it looks. I had one on my 91 XJ that I rolled into a ravine doing recovery, flipping it a few times, and the carrier with a 33 inch tire was still firmly attached when it landed.
I recently (month ago) put a Kevinsoffroad.com rack on my XJ and I have to say that I love it. I have been looking for a simple, perfectly flat - for the tent, large, rack and this fit the bill. This weekend will be my 3rd test of it romping in the AZ desert @ Devils Chasm. Couple things I like...
Installed new carputer(s) with ALL the maps of everything! It's a little loud, especially on start up, but now I have as much computing power on board as the space station. bahahaha
I assume that these are Mac's tie downs? Can you post a link to which exactly they are? Did they come pre-drilled and cut to length for the holes?
Also, I wonder if one could secure a slide to them easily, that would be sweet.
Thanks,
Matus
WK2 winch and bumper
Installed a bumper/winch on my WK2. Well mostly. Still need to install the front steel fascia.
The bumper kit:
Disassembled front with the crossmember on the ground:
Crossmember and prerunner skid installed:
Jeep the way it sits right now (at standard ride height -...
So I ended up modifying a car rental contract...
Kevin's Offroad - http://www.kevinsoffroad.com/cart/jeep-grand-cherokee-wk-c-2_6_32/
No much, for WK, most stuff for the WJ and XJ.
So I'm in the process of building up a 2011 Grand Cherokee Overland. I can go into detail about why but the basics are - comfort, hemi, quadralift/quadratrac II, comfort and hemi. hehe. Anyways, the problem I run into is aftermarket support. I went to Sema and spoke to a bunch of manufacturers...
As we all know you will never recoup the money you spend on the jeep when/if you try to sell it. So the best way - as I did - is to get a jeep that is already mostly there and then just add you own touch. :-) I while back I bought a 2000 XJ for KBB value and it already had a Rubicon express lift...
For that kind of money, considering you want to get a 2 door, I would get a low mileage 06 rubicon and call it good. Like this one:

Just saying.
Jim,
I do not have the same engine as you but I do have some experience with tuners - in my mustang and my WK2 hemi. To be honest with you, you would be better off manually shifting the jeep as you tow instead of getting a tuner to reprogram the ecu and tranny. And maybe adding a transmission...
Ridgid Professional Tool storage boxes - http://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-22-in-Pro-Organizer-Black-222571/205440492?N=5yc1vZc22a
They are really well built, water and dust proof and of course you can arrange them any way you wish.
here they are on my WK2. It is actually really easy to get to...
Setup my rear storage area with heavy duty stackable containers. Now I just have to get the label maker fired up... first aid, recovery, emergency, tools, electrical, etc.
I have the Mustang 4.6L Bosch injectors in my 4.0HO XJ. Love them. I can get part numbers if anyone is interested. Did the research a while back on Naxja forum.
Here is my trick, properly tested on the washboards of Arizona on my XJ. Aired down tires for flexing of the sidewall, long arm suspension (if you're lifted, to get the geometry more correct) and adjustable shocks - I run the Rancho RS9000XL. I set the settings on firm when on the road for...
My heeps
I guess I should intro myself here since I have 2 Jeeps that are being built up. One, 2000 XJ, is never done and the other 2011 WK2 overland is just starting the transformation.
2000 XJ
4.0HO/aw4
241OR Rubicon Tcase
ARB airlockers front and rear
5.5 inch lift with 33's and 4.56 gears...
