Looks like a CA car. My 05 Sequoia is just as clean on the bottom side. Does that one need timing belts and such? If so do em soon. Change out all the fluids gearrboxes diffs etc.
Side note. Good friend had that same model v8 had tottal failure of the ABS module resulting in zero brakes. The...
Kinda depends on what your towing with width of the tow rig. And how technical you'r thinking of going on the dirt.
I really like the narrow width of my 4x6. 5x8 would seem like a fantastic size. 6ft wide starts to suck. My boat was max 8.5 which had lots of very tense driving in narrow lanes...
Given a repower for 18hpin my boat is about $9000 for the engine. I think 10k for a 2.8L is a tad low. Mercruiser has sold them for yrs in marine repower options they are no where near $10,000.
Just sayin...
152 in the light impreza is OK. But its small. I use our 2010 ob lots currently tools are in the back. Its also our camping rig. 2kids two parents. I really watch our packed weight. I think crosstrek is cool and a great single person ultra light minimal gear rig but if you like gear its just too...
Lots of yrs back country packing. My dad did big backcountry stuff as a packoutfit cowboy during his summers.
Most of the semi severe stuff I saw was self inflicted deep cuts, knife or hatchet miss use. Even when I was 5yrs old I remember my dad being called to another camp to help patch...
Yep. Wife needed a executive level ride that was also quiet enough to take calls on the road. The big win was the HOV lane sticker. Oh and $7000 in tax credit back ;-). I hate leaving free gov money on the table. Ha ha
Wifes commute is nearly the same as yours. Plugin Ford Fusion 75mpg winters 80-86mpg summers charged at both ends of the commute. About $2 per charge in expensive CA. Miles like that get a commuter car. Far cheaper and less to maintain.
Run the trooper till its junked. Then get a used truck ;-)
Even the slow modern cars are faster and better than the old cars / trucks of the past. Acceleration today isnt much of a concern because all of them get it done just fine.
The only arguments worth arguing is.. Can you afford it? And will it do what you need it to do?
As for the "soccer mom rigs" moms have a far far more influence on vehicle purchase today. Hell 50% of my buddies their wives are the bread winner by a long shot. Oh and sadly my only chance of a pickup today. Is one that has interior and ride quality that at minimum competes with the Subaru we...
Its just numbers guys. Midsized trucks wouldnt exist today if the pricing / sales of higher end trims were enough to make the numbers work.
Same kind of deal for basic cars today. The economics of building them doesnt work unless higher trim models sell for enough profit. GM and Ford learned...
Especially when the same truck can be found far far cheaper a couple yrs old. I honestly do not get why people buy new when the new rig is no different than a 8 yr old rig.
If the rubber pads have some wiggle room. They can essentially flap in the breeze its a common problem with a few different brands and roof racks. A pea sized drop of gasket sealer on the loose rubber will stop the flapping. Oh and it is really loud as the rubber drums on the roof.
The multiple...
The higher content justifies the price which justifies the development and production of a truck that fits closer to the passenger car emmissions and passenger safety reqs than the old days of both full size and mid size pu that were not a great vehicle to get caught up in an accident in. I...
Guys this is like debating Pears and oranges. The current midsized crop targets a different need, different buyer etc. I was shopping 4dr midsized 4x4's in 2005. Paying cash. I shopped for two months. I didnt buy for two reasons. Those truck options were as much or more than full size. They got...
Guys its reading like the classic gas vs diesel thread. Buying a new truck especially one thats more or less the same as a 8yr old used truck makes no sense.
Some people like diesel and like the truck. Some people dont.
Nothing GM builds should ever be bought for msrp. Way way way too many dealers with way way too much accessible inventory to justify msrp or even over invoice. Simply ask the dealer do they collect cars or sell cars? Its GM not a empty Subaru lot with the next two truck loads already sold.
Denali Canyon 4x4 LB nada shows reports of around 40-41k lowest deal and invoice is right around 44k. The nicely optioned SLT shows 39-40k on the low end.
I see to my surprise SLE trim with the 2.8. ??? 37k option?
Good friend replaced his VW diesel buy back with the LB canyon. Plus he moved to this https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/capital-weather-gang/wp/2017/02/23/500-inches-and-counting-snow-has-clobbered-california-ski-resorts-this-winter/?utm_term=.c87005a68d87
We were up there two weeks ago...
Good info. My boat project was due to space in original small battery location. I ended up doing fiberglass work. Two group 24's ahh 1986 days..
I started to look into the fancy stuff but the charge nature as you point out can pose interesting challenges. Especially with really dumb basic...
I still like my old GT rigid. Way more trail feel. The suspension bikes I cant tell when I'm on the dirt vs in the air makes it hard to time your turns. Ha..
