I bet you got at least one round of beers for helping with the boat! Always good to do things like this when you are traveling and have the means....and not just for free beers!
Funny thing....I have fixed many flat tires of travelers on the road but never my own! The ARB kit has been used well...
Sometimes I call it not Gods country but the Devils country! The rain, sleet, hail, snow, bugs, wind & ect is why! I have seen the temp drop nearly 50 degrees in 15 minutes down there and go from sunshine to snow in the same amount of time! Not that it doesn't happen up here in JH too it just...
Very well put together trip report and excellent pictures.
I second what Christian says.....you are skipping a large portion of S. America. While I have not been I imagine it is well worth not skipping!!
Congrats!!
Looks like the San Blas were a little lacking in sunshine while you were there. Rainy season and all I guess....
The drive I hear from Panama City to the San Blas (not the actual islands of course) is a good 4wd trip! ;)
One of mine....an 83 from Germany with the SD33 diesel. Well, it has broken down on the trail a bunch of times. Everytime it was air in the fuel system since I have been working on that. So I just pump the hand primer on the injection pump and back on the trail!

I feel the same way and have been saying the same thing about old Nissan Patrols lately. A number of nice ones have fetched $15-20k on Ebay. Great I say, makes mine...

I was heading east on I80 to Denver to pick up my FJ62 parts truck.
