    Roof Top Tent positioning?

I think it is always best to center a load in the middle of a vehicule as much as possible, but like you, I would like the keep the ability to open a freedom top. So to me, the freedom top would prevail. As for right of left, I went for right, based on backing up in camp site wicht are usualy...

    Die Grinder - useful attachments?

In an old JP magazine, I have seen one used just for that, running a blender. If I remember the thing was being noted as a great mod for weekend trips! But also carrie one with cutting disk, carbide grinding bits, and scoth pads. But in deed, need a lot of air!

    which jeep??

86 wagoner will aslo have a full frame, witch in my opinion is a good option if in good condition to start with, but the weight and technology means it will be a gas guzzler. Look and Inside space is also FSJ +. The other will be in deed lighter ans smaller for tight spaces. I think it...

    Winch mounting options.

I think we are getting a little over board with the weight here. Unless he use the M12000 (136 lbs), the other warn are all lighter than that (98-100 lbs) but still heavy. + the mounting plate probably a max of 150 lbs. But I do not think he need to pull the complete kit out of the truck to...

Do not know about the extent of free healtcare in AB, but we are cover on the majority of our care in Québec also, but if not an emergency, you might have to be a patient patient! But the rest in fairly expensive, bit not the cost of lodging. And we get tons of free snow every year! ;)

What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

Rear winch bumper / tire carrier /Jerrycan holder for my 95 wrangler I do not like the over hang created by the roller fairlead, so I really might be going with an hawse fairlead. Winch is not connected yet nore the back up light, but it is getting their.

    Winch mounting options.

Good point about the weight. synthetic and more even more steel. You will want to plan a head so you do not have to walk in a nasty place carrying the winch in your hand. let say deep mud or bolders! But then again, you are mentionning it is not for extreme off roading.

    Winch mounting options.

You do not need to pull the cable out for rust, just treat it one with lube while you are resooling it (super lube silicone spray is good or liquid moly is even better) and you will be good for a few year before re lubbing and rust free for more than 10 years, even in the rust belt. I know, I'm...

    Best Tool Kit for Overlanding?

That's a nice kit, but in deed, most be heavy. But what I also do not like about plastic case like that, is the space in between the Tools that are space hungry in an Overland vehicule, even if it keep a really nice organization of the tools.:coffee: But I do not have the solution. I.m actualy...
