I have a few things on the list, but overall I have been pretty happy lately....
-I have a 5 bag system with my Titan Tool Bags that will fit behind the seats when the window panels are not there.
Those are Tools, Spare parts, Fluids, Repair stuff, and recovery gear.
-Under the drivers seat...
I posted this in my build thread, but thought it would make a good upgrade for anyone....
I decided I wanted a wireless winch controller to the Warn 8274 winch. I thought about the universal add-on unit, but I noticed that the new Warn Evo winches had a nice integrated wireless controller...
Time to take another pass through the project for the next few months in my spare time. These won't be major mods generally, but more details that I didn't get to do when it was first built....or stuff I have added to the wishlist over the last few years. Are they ever done?
I decided I...
Yes, unfortunately, materials have gotten harder to find as of late and I am sold out currently. The market is super saturated with recovery gear. I don't honestly sell THAT many, even with a good price point. The main reason I do them is for my recovery ring setup. All my stuff is more 'jeep'...
This is going to go against the grain a bit....but the more I looked into it, the more I found most of the raw products are being made in the same handful of factories globally.
Use what you test and trust.
It won't get much better than this....

No front bumper stretch with a 12K winch in the nose.
I am sure we will see some aftermarket copies in the future that might have a better price.
I made the decision to switch the soft rigging whenever possible years back. As most aftermarket recovery points have yet to properly accommodate soft rigging, I still carry a few steel shackles in the bottom of my bag. I do cringe a lot on the trail when I see people haphazardly using soft...
It looks like Ford might have it figured out.

I would just build the mount myself.
The gasser trucks typically have a lot more room between the front bumper and radiator without the diesel intercooler.
My 07 V10 definitely has enough room to mount a winch between the factory bumper and radiator.
An alternative idea would be to add a front receiver hitch and use a...
I'm not much of a video guy, but I was able to pull most all of the pictures from the build and made a slideshow of the entire process.
Even at 1FPS is is over 30 minutes long! It is crazy to watch 3 years of work go by that fast.
I have been using the Jantz J-flater on my #LX45 project for the last year.

Overall, one of the best small mods I have made in a long time. They stay on the stem full time and you don't need any tools to RAPIDLY air down all four...
If people can camp out of a backpack, or off a motorcycle, you just aren't trying that hard. Take less stuff. Take smaller stuff. Take lighter stuff.
If I can do a 3000+ mile trip with two people over 13 days, with an 4WOR Ultimate Adventure trip in the middle, out of my 1940s flat fender...
My original statement is VERY reasonable....simple even.
It ( weight up high) is never the only option, it is just the compromise in design safety that some are willing to accept.
There are LOTS of other options out there for making vehicles, even 'short' ones, perform much better off-road...
Pretty much all the people that do serious off-road and expedition work will tell you something similar. ?♂️
Nobody thinks that running lots of weight up high or far back is a good idea.
Most people just don't really care.
For me, it would depend very much on how much extra weight had to be added to the vehicle ( the rack system ) that would be carried around every day to take that 1% weight.
I think pretty much everyone knows that carrying weight on the roof is a bad idea.....they just ignore it because it's the...
