What did you do to your Expo Jeep today?

the slothful jeep... My progress since arriving in Germany has dropped to near zilch. I blew the tranny coming back from Nuernburg about a month ago and that has sapped a good deal of motivation. I have been pecking away at the rack to hold my RTT... its not pretty yet but will work...Hopefully...

Pro Comp ES9000!! Who uses them????

I run Rancho RS9Ks on most of my jeeps but they are far feomstick and see more rough stuff than you plan. I find the adjustability handy when going from road to rocks. But for you.. I couldn't justify the expense. Id even say the PC ES9ks may be pricy for no reason. Depending on your level of...

Looking for a good website for CJ5 information

There are several model changes in the CJ line up... some of the major ones happening in the 70s so be sure of what your looking at. Early CJ5s (pre-say-76?) have a simpler windshield latch mechanism while the later ones use a more stable screw in knob. Sounds odd but that is an easy identifier...

Safari Cab "Overland Camper" Trailer Build

getting there... Yeah, Pretty much like the TJ deal but with the ladder moved to the rear and instead of the big/little side windows, have the drop downs there. My biggest reason for thinking that the cross ways method would be hard is the roll bar placment. May make it hard to in/egress the...

Safari Cab "Overland Camper" Trailer Build

Ideas never cease... And in an extention of your rendering Expo8 and my love for Svens modded 80 model...Would it be possable to add an extention to the back of the safari to create this sort of effect? Seems that if you had the length to do the "push outs (drop downs?)" and could ad the rear...

    Dreaded Bendix ABS

R&R= Remove & Replace. Just FYI. :) gotta take out the old junk before putting anything back I'n. :) but it really is a simple deal. And if times short you can just wait to rip the old junk out as you have time.

Safari Cab "Overland Camper" Trailer Build

I think this is nuts! Here i am wandering Germany (just got to Koln) and I'm standing next to a several hundred year old cathedral, surrounded by very attractive European women... And I'm drooling over this drawing!!! Lol! You pretty much nailed my thought despite the difficult/sad description i...

    Dreaded Bendix ABS

Cool! That makes bugspray "6" happy so you can be also... Lol! But if you think of it, price a booster/MC at a parts store next time your there. You may get excited... Haha! Lao as a side note, IIRC, the YJ,XJ, and even many grand cheeks use the same mounting pattern. And some of the Grands got...

    Dreaded Bendix ABS

I understand your dilemma. If it helps, that year ABS was "optional", the dealer may fix it using non ABS stuff.. Maybe not.?. If it helps, almost all the ABS stuff can stay and you can remove it later if you wish. The booster and master cyl. are literally a remove/replace deal. The only...

Flip out tent(s) option? Love it JS... As always! A coupe thoughts i had... Maybe loose the bumperettes and just add a flush bumper to the rear. I've smashed my shins on those things any number of times! And if that's a working end that may happen more as it's opened and closed? Also, maybe go...

    Dreaded Bendix ABS

Waste of time... I was given (free) my 91 Briarwood by some folks for the same reason. I went to a Pull-a-part and nabbed a regular booster and master cyl. and it's still working fine after 360k miles!!! You could prob buy a new booster/mc for less than another abs brain that will die again.

Safari Cab "Overland Camper" Trailer Build

Reality.. Jpr4life..., Not to pick the nits but i think you have a unique situation honestly. For your case a kitchen trailer separate from the family seems the only logical option. Or I'n something like JS's case, maybe an RTT on top with the trailer only being for kitchen and gear.?. But it...

Safari Cab "Overland Camper" Trailer Build

As always... As always JS...great work. I am curious as to what you have planned for the pull out portion. I always find inspiration in your designs and exicution...Any thoughts on how far out the "tray" will come and how your gonna make it slide? I'm thinking of something similar for my "8"...
