    Nikon Wide Angle?

I have been using a 24mm f2.0 Nikon wide angle lens with my Nikon film cameras for years and it is an awesome lens. Now that I have a D2x I am looking for a lens that can duplicate the performance of this lens. Any help?

What are you all using for luggage?

I have Filson bags. A duffel in large size, and a two suiter zip open. They are beyond durable. The duffel has been my travel bag for years. The two suiter is only about 8 years old. They go in the trailer, LC, airplanes, boats and horseback. Good and tough, with quality components.

    RTT's and Rain

Martyn, I was with Frenchie in San Diego a couple weeks ago, and he mentioned that he is waiting for the trailer. He is looking forward to getting one from you and will mount his Maggiolina Extreme on top. We keep offering him a new tent, and he always says, "Naw, there's nothing wrong with...

    12V Desk top Lamp

Not sure where you want to mount this lamp, but I found that a 55 watt halogen marine chart light on a goose neck fit right into my Maggiolina. It could easily be mounted on a dash or dash pad. This what you had in mind? Mike

    tent installation discussion

Of course! A Defender has rear doors and not a hatch. No reason then to avoid a rearward opening mount. I have never been wild about front opening tent fitments - you need to get up and pull the tent open and again when stowing the tent - a PITA. Plus, as you pointed out, it would limit access...

    gas

My 80 currently sips between 12 and 14 MPG. The way to get (barely acceptable) mileage in an 80 is to keep your foot out of it - travel at 65 max, use OD and CC. If you run over 70 MPH you will start to see single digit fuel consumption. The 80 is rated for lower octane gas, I run 87 octane...

How to make the Roof Top Tent is Level

Fiamma makes a set of ramps of very heavy plastic. With a little practice these will level your trailer or vehicle nicely without scrounging rocks ormessing with jacks, etc. The ladder on the OverLand has TWO points of adjustment (center of ladder and at the foot for finer afjustment), and an...

Blue Sea fuse block ignition hot?

For your project, calculate the amperage load (watts divided by volts) on each load leg and the total load through the fuse block. Plan wire gauge based on load and run. Fuse the runs at the fuse block. The power to the block is total of all amperage loads supplied by the block. Plan a good...
