    International Jeep Overland Discussion

I have a heavily modified Jeep CJ7 that I completely rebuilt over a period of years. It's a really trick, nice Jeep with a big 350 chevy, T19 borg warner truck transmission, lockers, winch, U-bolt yokes, modified brakes, full float locked axles, etc... you get the point. While I really like the...

Looking for a good Creeper - recommendations?

I would suggest a Lisle Jeepers creeper. I've owned two of them over the years and the first one I had got ran over more times then I care to count without a problem!

    JLUR sleeping platform

I built a sleeping platform with storage underneath for my JKU. It's actually been really handy and my daughters definitely prefer it to the floor board! I couldn't find a pic of it, but here's a link to the video where I show it.

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

I just want to let you know that the Jeep was unloaded when I took that measurement. It levels out when you apply the weight to it.

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

No problem, The front shock today is 21" exactly so the 2619 spring and OME trim packer added 2.5" of lift. The rear is 8 1/4" with the 2620 spring, so 2.9" of lift in the rear unloaded. It rides a little stiff unloaded but you can't have both without air bags. I've been down that road before...

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

Thanks, I really like that feature! We will see if it stays though. The JKU is starting to go on a diet today and my LED off road lights might be a casualty on the road to gvwr. I don't really need them due to my LED factory headlights and fog lights. If I had the standard JK bulbs they would be...

    JKU must do’s upgrades

I never really liked the tie wrapping of the brake lines to the shocks. I did it once before I found that procomp makes some backets that bolt on and move the factory bracket up further. It's a better long term solution IMO. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/exp-90-7203...

Overland 2017 JKU Rubicon with stock suspension sag (and lift/spring/shock considerations).

Here's a couple pics of the stance fully loaded with stock KM1's that are half way worn.

Overland 2017 JKU Rubicon with stock suspension sag (and lift/spring/shock considerations).

I will chime in with what I did on my JKUR which is actually quite similar to your plans and how it worked out. I installed OME 2619 and 2618 springs, trim packers up front, 60066m front shocks and 60067 rears. If you use the standard front shock (60066) it is the same length extended as a...

Hopefully Lost... 2015 JKUR beginner build with mostly used parts

I like your build, and I'm glad you don't live near me because I don't need the competition! It's the perfect time to own a JK now that the JL is out and used parts are coming available. My wife has ridden along on more wild goose chases for parts then I care to mention for sure! I too have...

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

That's a great idea! I've seen racks built above the spare tire for coolers in the past but I really like how yours is lower. That would allow access to the cooler without having to know how to fly! I'll definitely look into incorporating that in the future.

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

Not nearly as bad as the stealthy 2" receiver hitch hanging out the back. When you move a 3/4 ton truck with your shin you know it was a good whack! Acting like it didn't hurt at the gas station is something I haven't mastered yet!

They make a nice solution that is ideal, but it’s 50k for the one I’d like. It’s called a gladiator!

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

I don't mind at all! Packing for four is a chore! When the whole gang is in the Jeep I put my stove inside the box where the toilet is in the video. The toilet will then go above the box with the kitchen container and some other light weight items. I'm trying a Front Runner wolf pack right now...

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

I used a bowman brand wire clamp and I drilled and bolted them to the pine 1x6's. I used four of the Jeeps footman loops and that secured the boxes very well. I built the boxes in such a way that it doesn't sit on any of the plastics in the back of the Jeep so that at some point when it comes...

Absolutely, I bought three sets of the 24" width ones in the link. There are several colors to choose from. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DG9SZVG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    Jeep JKU Camper for Four

I was thinking about doing a build thread of my latest project but I figured it would be easier to do a youtube video. Boy was I wrong! What was supposed to be one, turned into two and took me all day to shoot and edit, and three days to upload with my poor internet (think telegraph). If you...

    Bear, our 2016 JKUR

I used the ome 2619 springs up front and the 2618 in the rear. I installed the same setup in my new jku and I am definitely a fan. They are the springs that come with the medium heavy lift. The stock rubicon front shocks are the same extended length as the ome fronts, so I’d definitely run the...
