    Diff covers

I wouldn't go out of my way to replace them with the thick steel dif covers that are sold, I'd stick with OEM stamped steel. An XJ can get loaded down pretty quick and then you'll be looking for more power. Better to keep it light.

    Land Rover ideas for Jeeps

I have always loved the doormobiles and considered building my CJ8 into a camper once due to the US Land Rover scarcity. I do not have the mad fab skills like JScherb though so that plan didn't go anywhere. Fast forward a few years and I now have a JKU with a J30. It's the closest modern...

    Best Jeeps for Overland Travel

I’m pretty biased toward a jk four door as well. I’ve got an Ursa Minor top on it and I’m loving it! I’m sleeping in it tonight as I type this. The only real downside to the jk or jl platform is the load rating. You have to select your components carefully. As for the gladiator, I would be...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Thanks, I went ahead and ordered it for my birthday! Yeah, I agree and I won't be doing that again! It worked out but they were a pain getting them up and down daily even if I weren't using them. I told my wife and daughters on the way home that we'd put them on the trailer next time. I could...

Build for Jeep Wrangler Sahara JK

I’m not knowledgeable about any of the ones made for Jeeps however I’ve seen that Ronny Dahl’s father (I think) uses a small filing cabinet in the back of his. I’m sure there has to be a solution out there for much less than the auto aftermarket solution.

Any thoughts in DEE ZEE Roof rack for Jeep JL.

Looks nice and clean! Much better than a Gobi or smittybuilt rack IMO!

Build for Jeep Wrangler Sahara JK

There's a guy on youtube (me) who posted a video of his sleeping arrangement in his JKU. Get ready for some poor camera work, but it might give you some ideas. My Jeep sleeps four comfortably and sets up in minutes.

JEEP JLU RUBICON ECO DIESEL AFTERMARKET SUSPENSION OPTIONS / EVO PURCHASE REGRET

I certainly wish lift manufacturers would rate their springs and kits for certain weight ranges. With the two door and four door Jeeps using the same parts as well as a wide variety of builds it would be much easier if they'd come right out and list that this set of springs and shocks works for...

    Ursa Minor Pop-Top Jeep JK

Are any one of you using the Hellwig rear sway bar with your Ursa Minor J30? I just returned from a nine day trip and was thinking about a possible upgrade. I had three kayaks on top of the Jeep which I'll never do again (tired of taking them off every night), and the Jeep was a little dodgy in...

Good ol' tire discussion - considering 2 options

I've only got experience with mud terrains on my CJ7, but I much preferred a 31/10.50 over the 33/12.50 I'm running now, especially in the winter. The 33/12.50 maxis bighorns I'm running now are the most uncomfortable tire I've ran on the street besides swampers and not suited for slick roads at...

RRT Top Heavy Jeep, suspension/sway bar suggestions

I had air bags with my stock springs for pulling my Casita and they worked well for the occasional load. If my jk wasn’t constantly at a higher weight with all extras I have I would consider it again.

RRT Top Heavy Jeep, suspension/sway bar suggestions

Well we drove 1500 miles about a week after installation and they held the load level which the 2618's weren't doing. The Jeep does feel a little stiff unloaded, but I'd much rather deal with that and have the correct spring weight when loaded for obvious safety reasons. The springs can handle...

RRT Top Heavy Jeep, suspension/sway bar suggestions

I recently went with the OME 2620 rear springs from 2618's in mine. It helped a lot and my Jeep is @6200 lbs loaded with people. I have been taking a critical look at all of the things I'm bringing as well and hope to have gotten the Jeep down below 6000. We will see next week.

    Diesel Gladiator

Well, instead of reving my gas engine to go all of the diesels torque is off idle. It felt very confident. When I stepped down on the gas it felt as if it was ready to break loose at any second. I suspect the traction control system will cause premature brake pad wear on the rear end for...

    Extended JK, JXL

It's a nice concept but I wonder what the weight is on one of those once it's fully kitted out? My Ursa Minor JKURR is currently @6000 lbs fully packed and loaded with people, water, and fuel, and it just went on a diet to get that low. If only the Jeep had more load carrying capacity......I...

    Diesel Gladiator

I test drove the diesel JL and I must say it was a torque monster and put a big smile on my face! I have to agree with you on the tier 4 engine though... I only wish they would have had a simple factory diesel for the JK US market that didn't require all of the complicated emissions equipment. I...
