Mine took four months. I know its nerve racking but I did eventually get a call and went to Portland for my installation. It wasn't until I sat in the Portland waiting room that I finally realized how busy John really is. He was installing my top while being constantly bombarded by phone calls...
IMO they look good there but they don’t perform good there. I’ve had lights on the top of the windshield before and learned that there was enough reflection off of the hood to negate the pros of extra lights. Since then it’s been bumper mount only for me.
I haven’t installed it but I looked at one in person installed on the Lolo overland Jku before it burned. I had my Jeep their and measured and it looked like no problem at all. If I could justify the expense and weight it would definitely be on my list, but I’m happy enough with my arb 2500.
I have but after packing my kayaks on top when I went to the redwoods I don’t care to put much of anything up there. It packs it ok, but lifting the top every night becomes a pain. I ended up unloading the rack every night. Since my jeep is overweight anyway and I’m a safety ninny I’ve learned...
I actually did that once to help a friend who wasn’t on the forum sell a set of wheels but yeah, I agree with you. I asked both parties before I did and it was a local meet up. I have learned to be very wary of online dealings but I’ve had good luck over the years with people who respond...
I’ve had plenty of short jeeps and I absolutely love my four door. I can sleep in the back if need be and it’s so much handier with my girls than my cj7. Oh, and you’ll hate a soft top. Get a hardtop jeep and you’ll thank yourself in that taxachussetts weather. If you don’t plan to off road much...
I took the plunge and bought an Ursa Minor j30. Best money spent on a jeep ever and I’ve owned Jeep’s for close to thirty years. I understand that it’s not for everyone but it’s totally changed my jeeping. My wife had an emergency surgery yesterday afternoon and I ended up sleeping in it last...
Sorry for the late reply as I haven’t been on the forum for a few due to some huge life stuff happening but I wanted to comment on this. I’ve got some bags for my jeep that are a similar design but triangular for the back side of the roll bar. They’re called gama bags I think and they attach...
I agree it’s blasphemy but as a lover of both I like it. I understand it from the drivability standpoint. I have a cj7 and my wrangler is light years ahead of it. I don’t have the funds for a one off custom so my jk looks like a jk and that’s ok for me. It’s definitely a head turner and I don’t...
It will definitely be interesting to find out what steps Jeep took to increase the payload on the new 4xe compared to the standard JLU. That should give people a few ideas for their own mods.
