Set the truck up for how you want, ie all the things you listed. Do this first and suspension last. You may have a bit of time running around with the truck heavy before suspension gets done, ie yu add this one month, few months later you add that. If that is the case which is what I reccomend...

A few guys on Ebay Australia sell it for the 60 series. It is a vinyl floor kit, runs about $500+shipping. You could search ebay and try messaging the FJ60 sellers to see if they can get it for 80 series. I can tell ya', it is super sweet! I have it in my FJ60 and love it! :)

I agree.....that thing is just super cool! I am not an IH fan but if I was this is one of the best imho. I would turbo it, do a SoA and fit some 35's....then deck it out for overlanding. Well worth the $3500 imh if it is fairly rust free.

That is a time capsul truck, no doubt! FYI, I sold an 87 FJ60 in 1991 with 70,000 on it for $14,000. It was as clean as yours back then. I see no reason your truck is not worth the $15k asking price but as mentioned....the economy sucks bad right now. Sit on it for as long as it takes to sell...

WOW...just WOW!! Really like the recent updates. It sounds like you may be getting just a little weary of life on the road though. If so it is certainly understandable, you both have been traveling for some time. I will continue to enjoy your trips updates though until the end.... :)

Cool story and info, I didn't read it all though, yet. I am sure the Nissan starter had problems due to sand getting inside it. Generally Nissans will out do everything else. a low of 16-18psi is not very low, especially with those skinny tires. I would run 5-8psi in that sand. And buying...

Crossing borders in the middle of the night could be a problem. Shipping from Colombia to Panama (or vise versa) could slow them down a lot. Otherwise if you drive around the clock I think it is pretty doable.
