I have a blue sea 200a breaker on my 9500# winch. I haven't done any crazy recoveries just pulled trees down at home and things like that. Seems fine so far.
If my 1st gen Tundra needed replaced tomorrow I'm pretty certain I'd be getting a ~2016 F-150 with the 5.0. Seems like the best compromise between mpg /power/reliability for my needs anyway. That said my truck only has 125k on it so I hope to drive it awhile longer, being an 03 with the 4 speed...
Not really what you're asking about but I'm running 17" FJ steel wheels on my Tundra. The offset may not be adequate though, I'm running a stock sized tire so I'm not of much help in that regard. They were $358 new shipped off ebay. They aren't oem but are made to oem specs.
The real question is what have they changed in their manufacturing process to make it not an issue? I've read many times it's an issue with Dana made frames, are the Japanese made 4runners riding on Dana frames as well then? Did they make the Rear differential housings as well? Even if they...
I don't know the exact year just that it's a 5th gen. If you objectively compare Toyota frame rust to other brands it's pretty clear they have a problem. The level of delamination on the Toyota frames is something I don't see from other makes. Go compare a rust belt Tahoe or Suburban to a...
I'm a Toyota fan but it's still an ongoing issue from what I see. It appears they have preventing body rust figured out better than some makes by now but whatever they are doing wrong with frames is disturbing.
I'm looking for a 5th gen 4runner currently but without undercarriage pictures I'm...
I think adding some ~ 1/8" thick foam on the door will solve the water issue, the box seal is decent but the door doesn't contact it evenly in all locations. I only keep recovery gear, tied downs, bungees in one and 3 tarps of various sizes in the other.
Since I'm storing relatively low value...
Unfortunately I don't have a complete set of shop manuals for the e-series but maybe this will help? I have no clue where said connectors are in the van. ar
Like @Chuck1 said Australia has all the good options for trays, undertray boxes, trundle drawers, etc. I ended up buying these off ebay. They were $189 shipped for the pair when I purchased, that may give you an idea on the quality. They aren't watertight or terribly secure as shipped. I was...
What he said, I had to add an extra leaf front and rear on my passenger side to level my old toyota up even with the + leafs on that side. OME suggests this as the fix and also notes 1 extra leaf should not be a detriment to ride or handling.
Add me to the I don't get it list. My job is quite secure and I've been making good money through this whole mess. I'm still not out buying new cars and tvs, or building an expo rig using a credit card. Things are just a bit too uncertain in my eyes. Plus I'd like to pick up some sweet deals...
I was able to find an aluminum tray in the US I could live with, especially for the price. What I would really like to see over here is some nice undertray toolboxes and trundle drawers made available. Either fabricated in the states or imported. I've never been happy with the boxes I settled...
I've been keeping an eye out for F250s with the 6.2 for awhile. Much better value than a Tacoma. I like my 1st gen Tundra but I often wish I had bit the bullet and bought an F250. They can take abuse as a work truck for 200k+ miles and keep on going.
I wasn't sure the best place to ask this question but I figured here is my best bet. I have a 2017 Savana I installed a remote start module on, I have a 2020 Savana coming next week and I'm wanting to swap the module over. My issue is everything I see stops at 2017 for some reason on these vans...
My service van has the 4.8 with the 6 speed trans, I have it loaded up pretty good although I've never weighed it. Plenty of power for merging with traffic and the "hills" we have in Kansas. If I were pulling a trailer or loaded heavier I'd want the 6.0.
I've read the back and forth of flush vs drain and fill vs letting er' eat etc. For my vehicles I do a filter change and drain and fills.
Whatever you do a bigger transmission cooler should probably be on your list. Maybe one with a dedicated electric fan, seems like your troubles are low...
