One thing we liked about Columbia was how they stood behind their products. If we had a Columbia winter coat, which we had lots over the years, if the zipper broke or there was some other warranty claim you could just take it back to a store and they would send it away and have it repaired...
HMT, we are getting coverage within 1" of the edge of the tire. Mark is still working on the setup so we are not sure if that is the final location bit he is getting darn close!

Be sure to talk with Mark at Lite Industries as well.
Good US to Canadian dollar right now.
This is Mark's build thread.

It's been a week so I figured I better put some updated exterior shots on.
This one is when we picked it up at ITB
Off to Lite Industries in Red Deer for Mark to work his magic.
Mark's techs immediately started cutting apart our new truck, LOL
Here is the front bumper removed as well as the...
Alsakaboy, great advice, thanks. Can you send me a photo of the "slide". Yes they bolted it down but luckily it is far enough out that I can pivot the top section back far enough. Do you use peat or coconut husks?

Looks awesome from here!
As far as fixes yet are you talking about spots that can be filled with high build primer or bondo and flattened or what?

Thanks Butch.
We bought a Chariot 25 years ago to pull our now 25 year old son. It worked perfect for us and it went on to have a long life after we were done with it 15 years ago. I figured you would just trade off but wondered if you had found an alternative. The added weight of a child up...
What a great life you have built!!
A couple questions.
1) Now that you have some seat time in the truck with the bikes out front how do you like it?
2) I read on the blog that your daughter has started riding already and that is great. My question, until she is old enough to go for longer...
Mark, what model of Southco latches were they? Were they cast or plastic? I know I pushed on one on Saturday but am not sure whether it was plastic or cast.

Picked the camper up on Friday and drove up to see Mark at Lite. Mark will be taking the truck and adding the AEV bumper and bigger wheels/tires. He started ripping the truck apart this afternoon in preparation for the bumper's arrival.
Here are some updated photos from Friday. Mostly systems...
That's another thing that Mark just brought up. The weight of our rig is probably gojng to be in the 17,000 range (we'll see tomorrow). That being the case even a 16.5 is probably too small. From what I have read a winch should be spec'd to be able to pull 1.5 times the weight of the truck.

I hope we have all of that for you guys. Just know that the support you guys give during the whole process is much appreciated. Whether it is constructive criticism or cheer-leading, it is all taken in. During the process there are lots of highs and lows and luckily the highs FAR outweigh the...
Agreed Maninga. We had hoped to be using it all winter but we are getting close now and so is spring.
The heater and water system are working good now. It turns out the flow rate was too high and the water/coolant mixture was not correct. It wasn't the plumbing fixtures at all. I am glad...
I just got a text from the installer and he said it looks like they have it solved and will be testing it after lunch. I am sure he will let me know as soon as they have it working and what the issue is.
Mike, I agree on the frustration part. It is supposed to be an enjoyable experience both...
