2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was my fault. I was a little tipsy at bed time and probably forgot to make him pee one last time before bed. At home we have them trained to bark at us if they need to go out and I had assumed he would do the same in the tent. He didn't. He's lucky he's cute or I'd make...

Sleeping in my Xterra in bear country. Where should I keep my food?

This has been on my mind lately too (ever since they caught a Grizzly down in the valley where we live). Before that it was not really known if there were Grizzlies in our immediate area because it was classified as a "corridor" and not technically a "habitat". As we all know, when it comes to...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Last night I went camping at it was 45º at 6 PM...so I slept in the Jeep RTT for fear of cold. I think I have fixed the Propex issue. I had placed a screen on the combustion intake of the Propex in an effort to keep bugs out. For the last couple of weeks I've been wondering if this might be...

NEW XO Trailer Jack from Ark -

Thanks. I looked at all the pics in this thread very carefully. If I choose the XO then I'm gonna have to do some fab to make it fit. AT offers a pneumatic tire upgrade, but it's nearly the same price as the XO (without the fab). Not sure if I want to monkey around with air though. The hard...

NEW XO Trailer Jack from Ark -

I'm in the market for a new jack and look alluring. Can anyone speak to the difference between the XO tires and a pneumatic tire? Also, has anyone managed to mount one of these to an AT Overland trailer? If so, how did it go?

    Rubicon or Sahara

Maybe I'm not understanding what someone said here...but my Sahara with 4.10 gears won't exceed 20 MPH in 4LO (3rd gear at 4K rpm). I'm working from memory here, but I'll give it another try tomorrow and hot-rod it a little to make sure. Who has a Jeep that will go 60 MPH in 4Lo?

So, the Chaser...I'm a believer now. My plan is to offload the gear in the Jeep to the Chaser. Big plans regarding the kitchen, power, solar, etc. The Globe Trotter tent is a bit of work to set up,. and especially to put away, but it's so comfortable when in use. I plan to install a wood stove...

2-Door JK JeepKitchen - AT Chaser - Globetrotter - National Luna build thread

Officially...no more heaters. Well...kinda. I'm done with the Propex. It's simply too much work. I'll put it in a box, file it in my "Indiana Jones" pile of gov't secrets (in cedar boxes), and play with it later. In the upcoming season I'll use the Buddy Heater in the Chaser when needed. Last...

Got a pic of the pooches at bed time last night. I decided to sleep in the Chaser for this trip. I had forgotten how comfortable that Globe Trotter tent is. The vestibule is awesome. The bed is awesome. Now I'm seriously considering switching back to the Chaser for the rest of the year.

This would be cool for a fridge

The opening in the back of my trailer isn't tall enough for a regular fridge slideout and that is why I've been eyeballing drawer fridges. The problem is that if I want to store the fridge in the trailer, then I have to open the trailer lid to gain access (with the RTT and everything on top). It...

    Rubicon or Sahara

My Sahara came stock with 4:10 gears. Thank goodness...it's gutless with 4:10s and all the weight it has to deal with. I don't really know anything about gearing though. Is that ratio referring to the transfer case, or the gearing in the pumpkins? Or are they the same thing?
