    Which Toyota would you pick?

I would probably consider a tundra to use as a tow rig while I was in colorado but that is just my.02. the older style can be with a v-8 for towing the 40 and offer all the comfort of a new truck. access cab had 4 doors for easy access for gear if you are not worried about seating more then 2...

    Lowrance 540C

Weel my 480c is an awesome machine. Being the predecossor of the 540 it lacks a few feature but is almost the same. Down here if FL it shows everything and even the trails that show no name on the maps are named correctly on the gps.

Rear Carrier Bumper for '03 Taco

Demello and others ggenerally do not build a bumper to fit the factory hitch because of clearance issues. I'm sure if you contacted the builders directly they could easily fab what you need. I would be surprised however if the factory hitch wold not fit with minor modification like drilling a...

The $15,000 Expedition Vehicle: How would you build it?

interesting thread. I would have to look for foriegn car reliability and good part availability though out the trip. A large part of deciding where to put $ will be determined on how much you can fab on the cheap and DIY vs buy quality parts of the shelf for big $. i would be doing alot of work...

Yep and last week alot of work went into mike rig putting in a new sterringbox and partial ram assist unit. He shattered his steering box when he curbed his truck leaving the pub. THe new Straight axle and cross over steering was to much for the factory box. As for my rig. I am just going to...

    1984 Dodge 4x4 van

That would be a great build. I have owned 5 early 80's dodge vans for my work and they were work horses. I like the 318 motor alot more but that would be an easy swap when the 360 dies. Someone should get it. I would actually snag it if I had the dough.

    Interesting MPG comparison

Exactly me thoughts. If you were empty that is one thing loaded for ong trip is different. Also flat land and hills have huge variables just like putting along in the lower gears do which is where most of us are when we are covering long distance offroad. With my 4cyl my gas went to crap when...

    Rocket Box

I hope you drilled out the ends of those cracks. If not look for those to continue along the current route effective immediately. Always drill a small hole at the end of a crack to stop it from growing. On those type of vacume formed plastics the best thing to use is Devcon Plastic welder...
