QuadsBC's 05 Double Cab Tundra Family Expo Build

They dont all snap, typically 2 will fall out and bend and snap the others. Either way the result is the same. Torque to spec and use threadlocker and you are fine. Sean

    TaTundra 1 gen DC build

Make sure that you test the brake bias on something kind of slippery. I found out when the rear end tried to swap ends with the front that the bias is touchy depending on the conditions especially when its not loaded. I favor the front a little more now. Sean

QuadsBC's 05 Double Cab Tundra Family Expo Build

My lower Mounts are a little different than stock, I have the ruffstuff mounts (http://www.ruffstuffspecialties.com/catalog/SBSIDEMT.html) which are nice mounts but roll the shock up the side of the axle tube (which is bad) My setup is basically like this but with a much lower ride height...

How are you mounting them? I have Foa 10s with my deavers and to fit them and make the deavers cycle I had to angle them quite a bit. Sean

    Another Gen1 Tundra Thread

I agree completely. The tundra is kind of a sweet spot in my opinion. The size is right, its reliable, its obd2 so its easy to check when something goes wrong, its a Toyota from the 2000s so its easy to service. Several parts are interchangeable between it and the taco/4rnr so that lowers cost...

Its even nicer not to have abs if you want to do fun stuff like swap axles and whatnot. No sensor rings to get in the way because the speed sensor lives in the transmission tail housing or transfer case adapter. Sean

    2001 2wd Tundra- A Reasonable Build

I know on my wife's camry the hoses are approaching the age that they are starting to crack. It is worth checking all the vacuum hoses. I replaced all of them on my tundra a few years ago with silicone. Sean

    2001 2wd Tundra- A Reasonable Build

Check the Lower Ball Joints on the front end, there was a recall on them. I have 230k on my 01 and 2 timing belts later its almost as tight as when it was new. Sean

Skinny or wide tires; that is the question...

The shorter the grass, the taller the tree looks :Wow1: That said, 285/75/16, 295/75/16, 315/75/16 are just about perfect for a first gen tundra for me. I had 305/70/16 on mine for a while and I didn't care for it aesthetically (too short and fat), or in the wet. Sean

I am just about to do the same thing with the trans from my tundra, are you guys going to use a stock toyota transfer case or something more exotic? Sean
