Yes my goals are OME heavy kit, 255/85/16 maxxis bighorns. I will add bumpers, winch, rear drawer, fridge, lights, and some other electrical upgrades. Then a campa trailer. I am considering making my own bumpers again since I di not really car for any of the available options right now...
I looked at the ute ltd units I think the small unit was 1100 and an extra 500 for the drawer. Of course shipping would be on top of that. I think the whole thing shipped to me would be about 2k.
Now if ya had a brand new truck you might be able to sell the factory bed for that or close to it...
Well I have hte viair 460c. It has been totally reliable so far. It is not the fastest out their but for my tires it works great at 1.66 cfm. I am running a 105 pressure switch so i did not have to set up a seperate regulator for the arb lockers.
I looked at a lot of other higher performance...
I plan to run the same 255/85/16 I run on my taco. I guess the 285 is a good option but since this rig will see mostly d.d. duty the skinny tires should save a little fuel and the lighter wieght will preserve performance.
nice set up and great detail. What has really baffled me on the xterra rear bumpers is how the aftermarket units keep the crappy plastic rear corner pieces instead of triming them back, to offer a tougher steel corner wrap. Outside of that this is a great build! :clapsmile
You definetly want the heavy front coils for the taco. I would run a thule bar to mount personally. We have messed witht he Carr system and it really flexes at trail and highway speeds so your lights tend to bounce around. THe crossbar is just to weak. go for something else.
Hey ya know I was lucky enough to have an expo member (Chuck) give me an extra copy of the baja almanac. I am not using it now, so if you would like I will pass it on. I'm guessing the new edition will be out in a few months so I can wait to buy my new one. Pim me you address I'll send it out...
Send a pim to outsidr. His chevy has a great interiro led set up. The led are run through the headliner and tap into the 12v system. You can get any color but he runs red as to not mess up his "night vision". I think he runs 5 in the hea dliner and then then 4 in the foot well areas. Simply awesome.
If was going to buy something used it would be an '04 taco crew cab. Besides I want a stick which the 100 doesn't offer and I get awd with the FJ. Besides the big plan is to add a campa trailer so the rig doesn't have to be huge to haul gear. just enough for people and paddling equipment on the...
althoguh i have not bought them for my rig i have been in a few that run the light force. from what i have seen they seem to wrk really well. one d90 i was in had 4 of the 240 series up top with yellow lens covers. it was better then day time!
I am planing on puting 140 series with yellow fog...
I think lenses are more influential then bulbs. the IPF 900xs in an amazing light and it is only 65w. It out performs 10w light all the time in tets because of the lense.
Well today was an amazing scuba trip. Unfortuntly no hammerheads but we saw several white tip and galapagos sharks. we saw several sea turltes and had a sea lion come down and literally come down and play with us for 20 minutes. the highlight was a large school of 35/40 spotted eagle rays passed...

The red mangrove is an interesting place. to much to go into but very neat. tomorow we are going scube diving at a place know for large schools of hammerheads so keep your fingers crossed for big...
