Not sure about trucks or what model years do what, but on my '92 E350 w/D70 the speedo gets at lest some kind of info off that rear axle sensor. My freshly rebuilt transmission started going all kinds of wonky in the way it was shifting, and the speedo would wave around like a flag, and...
I dunno. Ive got a 6" lift running wheel/tire combos pushing 200# ea with no stabilizer at all and haven't missed it one minute. I e always been of the opinion that if you really needed one, something was wrong.
Sweet Jeezus it's finally going in to get the front gears/locker done. I have to drop it off Monday. Now hopefully I don't have to wait a month to get it back.
Hypermax kit is on my floor! Major WOOT! Still have to gather up the incidentals I think will be needed like valve cover gaskets...
Just being a bit sarcastic. IOW, somebody taught him, whether paid for or got for free. Everybody starts at the bottom. Ok, I'm done with all that.
And yes, back to the build. Maybe a concise status update for the folks that jump to the end? A "where I'm at" kind of thing.
Asking for damage, absolutely. I was just stating that it will compress, by lifting the corner, and that it doesn't necessarily have to be "under the corner of a building".
I'm not saying it should be left like that. I'm sure you're well aware that forcing a leaf into negative arch is bad...
And you got to be that way how? It wouldn't have been by by asking those with more knowledge to help you do it the right way would it? Or were you one of the lucky ones, born with all the skill and knowledge required?
I haven't messed with a coil sprung vehicle in quite a while, and I'm...
Man I get ya, but good luck with that. It's the biggest reason search functions are about one of these most useless tools in any forum. Most threads start running off topic after about an average of 7 posts or so, with periodic turns to get back on topic, followed by the inevitable drift...
Whereabouts in the Albuquerque area? I'm seriously considering a move out that way and have been looking in the Tijeras area. I've got the wander bug again, and the wife is driving me nuts about the weather in Ohio anyway. She's a city girl from southern Japan and loves heat, and humidity...
Didn't Magpul bail on Colorado because of some ridiculous firearms laws they passed? Not bagging on the citizens but it seems their like for carrying firearms about didn't stop their gub'ment from leaning the other way.
In essence you're removing the coil because it's too physically difficult to cycle the suspension with it installed, correct? That makes more sense than the other explanation which made it sound as if the coil was inhibiting range of motion.
I understand how shocks come into play, but I dont understand why you would want to remove the springs in order to measure wheel travel. A solid axle leaf sprung front (or rear) end is no different. You don't want to bottom out the shock at either end, but since I don't drive my vehicle sans...

The EMERGENCY beastie up there in post #22 sold for $5,600. It took an AMAZING level of restraint to not go after that. Well, that and fear of my wife's formidable skills with a sushi knife, but dayyyum it was hard. I love oddball 4x crap like that.
I run mechanicals front and rear in my CJ. The key to those on road in slick conditions is never forget you are DRIVING, and not just along for the ride with your cell phone. As long as you understand how they behave, don't forget that and don't get complacent behind the wheel, you're good to...
Personally I think the picking at Agiles system, and inversely the picking at anybody else's system, is wearing a bit thin. And I've contributed. At the least move it to another thread and let this poor guy build his system without all the chaff. All in favor?
The thing I liked the best...
I dunno..... No roof, no title, mashed up front end, a 6.0 of unknown condition, and 12 years old. For $9,000 I could do a lot of damage to the interior of my van and only have to install parts I've purchased in instead of R&R. I think Sportsmobile is just a bit over rated.
Oo! Oo! Let me take an arm-chair quarterback shot at this one. Some of the benefits....Much greater wheel travel, at least in the up-travel department. Better steering, and by better I mean it tends to keep going the direction you've pointed it instead of where it has an urge to go. A...
