Me and a buddy from NAXJA. Had an awesome time, and it was not packed...very nice. Thanks Jeremy. I have tons more pics too, if interested. Im open/open in the diffs, 33's, 4" lift, winch bumper and what belongs in one. This is my favorite pic of Jeremy's rig. Asking how...

    tires weight

how hard do you wheel? 33's will be fine if you can finesse it. If your in the rocks with the pedal down all the time, you will break something. If you drive more on road and wheel everyonce in a while and just dont mash the pedal everywhere youll be A-OK. Im running 33s on my XJ. Id buy...

    tires weight

Leverage is the word I was looking for...A larger tire will but more leverage on parts, making it easier to break them. Thank you to Lynn for jogging my memory.

    tires weight

Not necessarily...the faster the bigger tire spins the more centrifugal force and that can snap axles...Thats why people will say, "you can run up to a 33 inch tire safely on a Dana 35, but not a 35 inch tire."

    huge *clunk* during braking...HELP.

wow...I guess Ill keep my eye on that then. Yeah, actually, I dont even think that the ebrake was engaging. But I adjusted them until they were almost touching the pad and it seems to have fixed it. Only time will tell...

    huge *clunk* during braking...HELP.

ok...but shouldnt the return springs return the shoes to where they should be, regardless of if the drum is there or not? Just askin... Anyway...its a strange strange world. So after fooling around with it a bit, I adjusted the shoes out until the barely touched the inside of the drums...they...

    huge *clunk* during braking...HELP.

Its a cherokee with drums out back. I think the wheel cylinder is sticking and popping the pad out into the drum really hard. I did take it all apart and looked and it looked fine, but one time, I left the drum off, turned on the jeep, hit the brakes, and the wheel cylinder was leaking out of...

    huge *clunk* during braking...HELP.

Ok, this *just* started today. I have no idea why. As I press the brake pedal slightly, it slows down fine. If i press it down kinda hard, it clunks like crazy up front and underneath me it seems, and the right rear wheel locks up. It also stops really quickly...it feels like as I press the...

    Took winch apart...help...

so I took my winch apart last night to clean all the rust off. Its a Chicago Electric, (came on the Jeep, works fine). I bed-lined the drum on the flanges and the top cross bars that were rusty. I also bedlined my bumper...now Im putting it all back on and the winch is having a hard time...

    Dielectrification.....

good to hear. I actually checked all the connectors, etc, and they were all clean, so no big deal there. I guess Ill just get around to sealing the fuse boxes and distributor up and call it a day, electronically.

    Dielectrification.....

The only thing Im worried about is the back of the connectors, where the wires enter the connectors. Is that a vulnerable area? Whats the best way to deal with that? I was thinking maybe drip wax down into the back of all of them? As for the breathers, thats no big deal...Ill take care of...

    Dielectrification.....

So since I got the XJ, Ive been jonesing to do some work to it, but I have no money right now. So I checked out tons of "free or cheap mods" threads on NAXJA and went to work today. I removed the rear swaybar, bent some tabs on the "frame" that inhibit the upper control arms from dropping all...
