wow, that is a nice cargo barrier to fit the sweet FJ. I like the dual tanks as well. Is it hard to fill with the neck in that location? Very covert, I like it. Now I gotta see your itinerary to see if you're coming through my neck of the woods.

Brian894x4’s Land Cruiser FZJ80 build thread.

Here's the link to the write up I followed on mud... http://www.forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=39028&highlight=arb+factory+switch The oem rotary switch has three pins. One + in and 1 out for rear and 1 out for front. Just ohm it out to see which is which. The pin by itself is the...

Brian894x4’s Land Cruiser FZJ80 build thread.

nice, you've got all the cool gadgets. sorry if I you answered this already. Any plans to use oem switches with your lockers and the dash indicator? I think you mentioned you were going to use the arb switches. I did mine this week and it was actually quite simple and it only took a couple...

    02 DC rear springs?

air bags will allow you to adjust your ride height by adjusting your preload. It may help if your rear is sagging but that doesn't solve your weak spring issue. If you're easy on your rig (driving style) and you don't load it up too much then your springs will last you a little while longer...

    02 DC rear springs?

none, your should consider retiring them :REOutArchery02: How much weight do you have back there? How many miles are on them? Figure out how much weight you plan on having back there for the better part of your driving and talk to the guys at deaver springs. They'll set you up with an...

ARB line routing (from inside the cab)

I did the same thing, except I didn't even fill it a second time before I went and got a compressor. Too much of a hassle to fill. With a compressor you won't run out of air :)

ARB line routing (from inside the cab)

What about a york air compressor? Belt driven, and takes no storage space. It fits with dual batteries as well. This is what I'm leaning towards as opposed to the extreme aire that I have.

ARB line routing (from inside the cab)

That's a great idea. Before I regeared, my front locker solenoid would spew oil not only when disengaged but when the diff would warm up. After the regear I've been lucky and the solenoid has been dry. My arb compressor mount arrived wed and now I get to see what you're talking about...

    Camp stoves at high altitude?

I think the only one's that suffer at high altitudes are the propane fueled stoves and grills. My propane tank for the stove never froze but it seemed like it was starving for o2

    Lithium Powered Cordless Impact Guns

I think carrying it on trips that are likely to cause damage (difficult technical trails) would be a good time to have it. Yet make sure you have hand tools as well.

    Lithium Powered Cordless Impact Guns

I was just thinking about this the other day. If I have the room I'd carry one, not as a necessity but a luxury. We have a milluake 28v at work and it kicks ass. I've seen tiny dewalt one's - 14.4 I think. Super small, powerful enough and lasts a long time.

    Slowest 80 Build Ever!!

Congratulations on the 80! I agree with blupaddler, I would focus on the fridge, sliders, dual batteries, and storage. The fridge, sliders, and dual batteries speak for themselves. With three kids you definitely want your storage situation organized and secured. That's where having a...

Canon DSLRs: on the edge of reason

external hard drives Mark, I bought a 320gb Western Digital external HD not too long ago. It's really nice and easy to use. I'd actually like to get two. I store all of my photos on it and would like to back it up on a secondary external, this way it's backed up and my notebook HD isn't...

    Landcruiser n00b question

I just traded my fitted tacoma for an 80 back in february. It's a great vehicle, I love it. The live axle, SOLID build, comfier seats. It guzzles gas so that might be a concern for a daily driver. Here's a link to a Costs of Ownership thread so you're not surprised when your going through...

Canon DSLRs: on the edge of reason

I'm by no means a pro or selling to magazines but I've got a 2.5yr old and a 4.5 month old and the 5D would be great to have for shots of the little one. I think if you can hold out a little while for the 5D, do it. If not get the 30D for the larger lcd. I have the 20D and it works great, I...
