Nice. The wife and I have a small sail boat with leeboards for shallow water running. In a good wind I can heel it over and skip across 18" of water under sial with board partially down. When the boards are fully up it drafts 6" THere is nothing more funny then seeing guys on flats boats doing...
This must be a geography thing. Come wheeling with me in Florida july through november and you will be ordering one right away. Down here our trails get flooded with water and traversing tire to headlight deep water is a regular thing here. I regularly see water above my wipers in the rainy...
That island is cedar island. There is no beach camping there either. I just got back from the outerbanks a few days ago. It was a really great area. Wish i had another week so I could have got in some diving and fishing.
Well you need to realise that 1000# max capacity is not a real world capacity rating. alot of canoes that are rated for 1000# will become slugish and unstable around 700-750 # depending on design. That 1000# rating is based on freeboard and I haven't seen a manufacturer actually do a 6"...
Making a few upgrades to our old town is easy. Fortunetly the MRC seat trusses are a direct fit on the old town. You can order a set from any mrc dealer. The old town yoke is also wide enough to put 2 fastners per side. You will need to oder a new yoke for about $20. You will also need some #10...
good canoe. when the explorer tt series came out we had a major drop in sales of the old town units. much better built when it comes to the details.
old town uses dowels for the wood seats and the palstic buckets will give out in the summer heat after a year or 2. The MRC has 4 fastners...
I have had the 75 series now for 3 years. I took it in and had it tuned up. It works great and the range is fantastic with my new antenna mount on the cargo rack.
I did run a seperate ground wire for the antenna but the height gained in the new mount added a lot of range.
Ok so I identified the a/c problem. There is a leak in the condensor. I guess the radiator is coming back out LOL. Toyota can't get the part till tuesday go figure. Also my battery light is coming on and off today. I checked it with a meter and it looks like I need need a new one. It puts out...
If you pull the third members you labor dropes big time. THe rear is a no brainer the front is not much harder. You can do it yourself with basic tools and some jack stands.
I decided last minute to have a gear shop set up my thirds and it was 180 per third for ARB and gears. I supplied the...
Ok so last night I decided to get started on pulling the transmission. I got the seal replaced and everything put back together today. I also got the radiator drain plug fixed using a 10mm bolt with a touch of high temp rvt as a gasket. no leaks!!! :jump: Of course now my damn a/c is not working...
Honestly it is age, my junk is 10. when i did my axle seals they were just dry rotted same as the front seal and radiator cap. The plastic drain plug on the radiator snapped due age as well. mechanically it runs fine it's just all this stupid little crap. Thanks for the offer to help with the...
Well guys for the first time in my life I have thrown in the towel on a trip. I was supposed to leave last tuesday and was a few days late trying to square up some details. Then I left and had some minor mechanical issues, I decided to limp back home since I wasn't that far. Got those things...
Ok guys I have to have email access on this trip for my wife. I am thinking of adding wifi but know 0% about it. I went to a wifi directory site and the picking are slim in Idaho (big surprise). Any thoughts on this.
Ok so I got out the volt meter today and started testing. After about 10 minutes I busted out laughing. We accidentally put the wire that runs from the alt to the isolator on the battery 1 output terminal and the batery wire on the isolator in terminal. As soon as I sswitched those 2 wires...
IT RUNS WOOHOO. well sort of LOL. I started the long drive home last night. 10 miles and then 30 minute stop, for 100 miles. Got home at 4:30 this morning. It drives great. I'm very happy with the street feel of the new OME suspension. Can't wait to get it off road. the Navigation is the bomb...
Since I was behind schedule and I wouldn't be able to start the gear assembly till wednesday I decided to drop them off at a local shop to have them set up. They are charging $180 per axle to set the gears and arb's up. I think it's a deal. So Wedneday afternoon I will have both the front axle...
Ok a few pics from yesteday. We got all the odds and ends on the electrical done. mainly just securing wire harneses etc.
Installed the Bilsteins.
Somethings missing!
Hopefully wednesday we will have the reinstaled and the truck will be ready for a test run!
Ok so it looks like I'll be leaving Saturday. I should have the gears wrapped up by wednesday. Test run and break in on thurday and hopefully if everything is working I'll be packing Friday and leaving thursday. Only about 5 days late but given the amount of work I have been trying to get done...
