I too was in the same boat, went with a 7.3 crewcab and an electric bike. The eletric bike is like my dingy for around town and on trips. The 7.3 is a great motor in a great truck. Parts are easy to find and the available upgrades are endless. You can cover a lot of ground doing 85 and still...
Gpm is great if you get a bigger sureflo. I actually went with a smaller pump to force myself, and others, to save water. I used the sureflo on my last rig and it was more than enough power to shower and rinse dishes. The eco temp will burn you if turned up, it gets really hot but the gpm does...
you can get a small propane tank that will give you many showers and won't take up much room, or set up onboard propane under the SUV. If the shower is vented then you can put the eco temp in shower or mount it 0n the inside of a door or hatch that can be opened when showering.
Never heard...
I'm going to try these...http://www.dieselsite.com/1999-2004f250f350dieselsite4wdesofhosekit.aspx.
Could dirt make its way into the hub through broken vacuum lines or any other problems arise?
Hubs on this vintage trucks
So I drove into a White Pockets, Utah in 2wd thinking I was in 4wd. Didn't have an issue until trying to leave a few days later going up a sandy hill, locked the hubs manually after realizing they were not engaged.
Can this system ever be reliable? Any reason to...
I loved my 2wd van. It went just about everywhere including down a sandy wash in Mohave, up a trail that a Synro couldn't, all over really. All that weight in the rear makes for great traction. The reason I went to a 4x4 truck with a camper was because the van was just to top heavy to be safe...
I went through the same and ended up with a diesel. Way over kill but love the extra power over passes, I pass people towing a boat with a camper on. It sucks to do a long road trip when the rig is struggling and when unloaded the power is fun. Driving should be fun. The fuel is cheaper and...
Thanks NorthenW
These are all I could get to upload. Amazing how well it fit, sits flush against the tail of the flatbed. I did add a 2x6 to each side to take up the space between the bed boxes and camper.
I am going to do another few rounds of polishing to get the airstream finish...
The 7.3 is the last diesel truck that does not have all engine killing smog stuff. In California, and I suspect in other states, the smog test for pre 2003 diesels is much more relaxed, not cat. required, just a visual smoke inspection. That means you can run tunes and other mods yet still be...
I don't mind paying a little more to breath clean air, I grew up in the smog alert era. I am also a lefty when it comes to the enviroment but that train must be dumbest thing this great state has ever come up with. That and growing almonds in the desert.
