Back when I was in high school I had an '81 audi 4000 diesel. I got in a wreck and being in high school couldn't afford collision rates in miami, so I was on my own to fix it. The frame was bent a bit, and the whole front clip was toast. I took it off and used duct tape to attach to of those big...
Ha I am getting ready to order one for my elelctrical box. It is one of the 2 final items I need before tackling this project. I am looking at a 2500/5000 unit mainly because I have the space and ithas 4 plugs with cooling fans built in. I can keep a cordless drill/sawsall and a few other...
All you had done was gears a limited slips? You didn't change tires at the same time? I wouldn't think that the installer of your gears couldn't really do anything to cause driveline vibrations by pulling the thirds unless he removed the axle's completely and has installed them wrong.
If you...

Hmm is it double on the roof? On my reg cab it is single as far as I can tell. Guess they do it different on the D-cab. Are you talking about where the suppot pillars run across the roof?
Well all I can say is down here in florida snorkels should be the first mod after pull points. I have never had any noise from the snorkel reguardless of highway speeds.
During heavy rain you will get a bit of water in the snorkel while driving but nothing to worry about. It will evaporate out...
So what are you guys doing about fuel for small grill etc. I had to go to camping world today and saw these small 3 lb and 11 lb tanks. Looks like it's small enough to mount in the bed out of the way, but large enough for an extended trip. Traditionally in sea kayak / canoe trips I use either...
Ahhh the Texas Water Safari. I have actually built a few solo canoes that have Been used in the race. We deisigned it, made a mold, and built it up at the Bell Canoe factory.
What I think is the funniest thing are the the flying fish at night. As you know they are attracted to the headlamps...
I will have to dig up some photos of a trip we did a few years ago in the okefenokee swamp. It was flooded so we slept in the hammocks over our boats. Just tied them up to trees while in our canoes and slept over the water. Just had to remember not to just stand up in the am LOL!
Your right...

Man it's funny how you guys don't like the v-6. I have a ranger as my daily with that motor. it has plenty of power and I have over 230k on it with no issues. Hell not even a leak. I also have several friends with fords that run that engine. I have never heard anyone say anything negative about...
My good friend Mike Lokey has a shop called Lokey Cross Lander. He has started a great 4x4 shop that caters to the tripping market. He is one of several aticipating crosslander dealer around the U.S. here is a link. He actually carries all the goodies in stock from ARB, pull pal hi lift...
I knew about the Brack line and possible conflict with thicker leaf pack. I was wondering about the BPV bracket and if Would have to relocate some of it. Thanks for the limk tot he article. That is an easy mod but I see critical.
Gotcha like a slide sytem. That might actually work. I just need to incorporate a track to slide the whole canoe sideways the erect the tent.
Good Idea!

I was actually sketching out something like that the other day. I was trying to incorperate some gas struts to do the lift portion once it is unlatched. Then a pull line to bring it back down, My only concern was in foul weather if there was high wind or rain that would become a problem...
