I believe they are extendable and go to approx. 6' what may cause you pause is side door opening clearance and rolling it back up you will definitely need some type of step?
Try the demo Scenic Maps app has. It remains resident on your machine and other than initial download no further downloads. I use Scenic Maps West version on I Pad mini with Ram X mount on a Ram suction Mount (strongest suction mount I've ever had too.)
Try looking at looking at chargers/converters made by Aukey. They are the real deal and provide the power you need. I use one to power an I Pad Mini and Dual 150 simultaneously. I like you learned the hard way
Schuberth is without a doubt a class act, I have also had similar experiences with upper end Arai. Always glad to see mfg.'s take care of those on the road.
Running an I Pad mini I use Scenic Maps West. They have it for various areas of the US. About 10 bucks and stay resident on your machine no additional downloads. Check it out
Contact ARB USA and let them know what happened and while I can't speak for them I have found them to be very liberal in replacing small items gratis to further brand loyalty. :)
Just put one on my 2014. I took a body grinder and took the top 3/4" off the antenna. It's hollow inside and I filled with RTV, No issues and didn't effect reception. Can take pics if it would help
