Warn XP & Warn XP S. Whats the real difference between the two?

Does anyone know if the drum of the WARN 9.5 XP-S has any internal mods to reduce heat build-up?

My local dealer only has stock of the 9.5 XP with steel cable...I need to know if there's any significant difference between the XP and the XP-S?

The question being....can I simply put synthetic rope onto an XP and not have any heat issues from the drum?

Does the XP have it's braking system inside the drum anyway?...

The only difference between the two is the rope and fair lead. The winch itself is exactly the same.

The -S on the warn model seems to only denote that it comes from the factory with synthetic rope initially.

synthetic rope is the difference. S=synthetic

When you purchase your winch, don't forget some recovery gear, some shackles, and a couple of snatch blocks, etc.. maybe you can get them to throw some in if you do not have already.
