Found this while surfing CL, no affiliation but the lady selling it super nice and straightforward. Won't last long! If the 85 is the holy grail, a diesel 85 with a wildernest is the holy trinity.

Saw your rig parked in Charlottesville a few weeks back, me and my girlfriend stood there and oogled it for a little while then got some lunch down the street. Looks killer! I'll always regret passing on a 5 speed D1 in Coniston Green I found a few years back.
My 5 speed 3VZE gets about 15mpg, 33x10.50 AT's, ARB, Winch, 4.88's. I know thats not exactly what trans you were looking for but I figured I'd chime in anyways. I know the 3.0/ auto is a pretty abysmal combo for practically anything (wheeling, towing etc.) at least from what I've read/ heard.
I love these 4000's. The mounts are the best part as they use a ball and socket style system as opposed to the cheaper 500's and FF's. Only drawback is I had to re-drill my ARB to fit them because the cases are so deep but the 3rd gen and Taco ARB's seem to have more height and depth. I have...
Looks like the 3RZ has a temp sender and an ECT like most vehicles. The ECT has nothing to do with the gauge. I'd try grounding the wire from the ECT see if it moves the needle, if it does the coolant temp SENDER would be the culprit...
I thought this over for a few weeks and decided to keep my factory SR5 alloys and wrap them with BFG 33 10.50 15 AT's. They are cheaper than any comparable size 16" and I didn't need to buy new wheels. The 33 10.50 rides awesome and even fit without rubbing on a stock 2nd gen.
