    2019 ZR2 Diesel

First mod was extending the engine block heater. Yes, that's an old microwave cord. Added a female plug on the end I cut. It does not get hot when in use. Plugs & cord remain cool.

    2019 ZR2 Diesel

Took delivery on or about 12/20/18. Color is called Red Hot. We ordered it. Mods will be slow & as needed/can afford them. It will be used to travel w/& w/o 19', high-ish ground clearance camper, that weighs 3500 lbs. On that note, the mods have already begun.

    Post up your drawer/storage system

I built a bedslide for my last truck that worked great for us. I used 3/4" ply, 2x4's & non swivel caster wheels from HF. Not fancy but it worked great.

    Camp Chef Pro 90X.....

Still loving the Pro 90. I think the 2 burner griddle would be better for camping. So I could use the empty burner for coffee pot or tea pot.

    New 2018 Colorado ZR2 - Icedragonmx's Trip Reports

Great thread, great pics, great truck. I FINALLY got to test drive a ZR2 Diesel today. I liked it a lot. Bringing it home on Monday for a few days, to see how it pulls our camper. I suspect some rear suspension help may be in order for that. 20' high ground clearance 3500 lb camper. Hoping my...

    Allstone chevy colorado ZR2 build

I am guessing that it is the diesel engine ? Any issues with regens, such as lost power/limp mode ? I test drove one today & liked it a lot. They were gonna let me bring it home for the weekend but it had a tire going flat & they couldn't get it in as it was too late in the day. So we are gonna...

    Ranger Raptor testing in Flagstaff

Price of ALL trucks, mid sized & full sized is out of control. You can build a 1 ton CC for $93,000+ & mid sized for $50,000. $73,000 for a new loaded up Ultra Platinum 1/2 ton. Technology & liability has become a double edged sword.

If you plan on buying a manufactured trailer there are a few things you need to know

As a lifelong camper & camper owner, i can attest that those same little stickers were on ALL the JUNK i have bought new and also all of my family members & co-workers. They don't mean squat. They are all junk & made to the cheapest possible standards imaginable. They are NOT isolated incidents...

    Colorado Duramax thread

Can someone please measure the width of the leaf springs on a ZR2 Diesel & post it ? This would be most helpful for those of us planning to tow that might need a helper spring set up, to help with the squat. Thats just the nature of flexy suspensions & towing. Thanks

    School me on winterizing

And, then there is the air method. https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Fresh-Water/Camco/CAM36103.html I still use the RV Anti-freeze method. I do have the blow out plug though. I use that to rid the lines of as much water as will come out, then I use the -50*F RV anti-freeze. Our camper has the...

    Longest lasting E rated 37s?

This guy has nothing but good things to say about these tires. Made out of the same compound as semi-truck tires, designed to last longer they say. Not sure what sizes they are available in.

I hate this process. Vehicle ideas/input?

Yup, 4.56's. Crawl ratio of 78:1. 6.3:1 1st gear & 2.72:1 Lo range. New Wagons have the 4.10's, as mpg was a big factor. People just can't seem to wrap their mind around my 8-10 mpg---towing or empty. 14-17 sells more trucks i guess but when they start towing, they drop right into the same range...

I hate this process. Vehicle ideas/input?

As an owner of a "ordered" 2008 Dodge Power Wagon w/G-56 manual, congrats on your new ride. I think it will meet your needs & exceed them off-road. Most PW owners are of the "better to have it & not need it, than to need it & not have it" crowd. We only have about 47k on ours but it still makes...

Ozark Trail "High Performance" cooler - any good?

We just picked up a Lifetime 55 qt cooler. We wanted one that was a little easier to carry when full & also fit into the trunk of our Corolla. So far we like it. The slightly smaller size & rope handles make it easier to carry by 2 people, than the fixed handles on our Coleman coolers. My...

    Camp Chef Pro 90X.....

Yup, loving this thing the more i use it. Cooked up 10 lbs of potatoes & 10 lbs of onions in no time, then cooked a 5 lb bag of Sahlens hot dogs. Start to finish in less than/about 30 minutes. It really does have "professional level heat."

    Camp Chef Pro 90X.....

Junkinduck --- It has plastic levelers in all 4 legs. Did you replace them with steel ones ? If so, could you please post a close up pic of the machine jack screws you used &/or a link as to where i could purchase them. More HD is always better. Thanks.

    Schutt Industries - Xventure Owners

I am not an X-Venture owner but I have looked at these in depth & in person. Being a US Army veteran, I know what built well is & I can assure anyone who is interested in these, that they are, without a doubt, THE most Heavy Duty off-road trailer I have ever seen. I wanted one so bad, we even...
