So the other tent I ordered from Amazon is back ordered, and the wife gave me permission to up mt budget :wings: I've been looking at the Turbo Tents from Black Pine and have a few questions. I've seen some reviews, but they are older. Anyone having any problems with their tent? What are pros...
The tailgate is extra thick because it has the rear window in it. There is also a trim panel that I could remove, but it will only give 3/4" extra room. Yes, I plan to store ropes/straps/etc. under the drawers.
I ended up buying a Browning Big Horn tent from Amazon. It's made by ALPS, and has a lifetime warranty. Almost all the reviews on Amazon said it was a great tent...
Yep, we were going to install some stops just like that. A smalls strip of wood that would requite lifting the the front of the drawer up to remove it. We ended up not doing it because of the tailgate being there.
I have dogs also, and hadn't thought about the holes being a problem. I'll discuss it with the wife. I picked up a bunch of speaker box carpet from the local car audio place and am going to install it with some locktite spray on adhesive. We didn't leave enough room to wrap the carpet around the...
I can remove mine, but it would take about 30 minutes. The lower frame is not attached to the upper frame. I would have to undo about 30 or so screws and it would come in 2 pieces plus the drawers. Not optimal, but workable.
Here is the one I just built for my Suburban this weekend. Question for those that painted their platforms, what kind of paint did you use?

Then we added the frame for the drawers and storage areas...
I'm looking for a good family sized tent that can hold a minimum of 4 people (2 adults, 2 children) and 4 medium sized dogs. I have a budget of around $300 and don't mind buying used. I'm leaning more toward cabin/multi room tents vs. dome tents. This will be used for car camping with the family...
I have no idea what Klystron is, but someone has a few of these boxes for sale locally. I just want to make sure they are safe to use. The size is 20x19x16. He is asking $60 for both. Thoughts?
I finally did something with my suburban, built a sleeping platform/storage area. We used 3/4" plywood for the sleeping platform, 1/2" plywood for the drawers, 2x8's ripped down for the frame. Still need to decide if I am going to use stereo carpet or just paint it, or finish it some other way...
Finally got it done tonight. We started last night. We used 3/4" plywood for the sleeping platform, 1/2" plywood for the drawers, 2x8's ripped down for the frame. Now I just need to decide if I am going to carpet it, paint it, or do something else. Any ideas?
We started off with by making a...
