Dang right Naps has a good burger. I grew up just over the hill in Idaho, Naps is WELL known to my tummy! Passenger space is limited unfortunately. You could build your own flat fender and tag along. You have like 7 days....should be plenty of time.

7 days till I leave for this crazy trip....EEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!!! Everything seems to be going pretty well. I have a few projects I would like to get done before I leave, I need to start organizing, and then I need to start packing! I have been driving the Willys to work every day can pretty...

Finished the center console made out of an ammo can.... Made a bracket to raise the can 5.5" off the floor. The bracket was designed so you can slide stuff in from the front under the can for a touch more storage. In a flat fender you need every inch you can get.... Drilled out the spot...

Just trying to get organized.... Sorting out the tool kit. It is probably too much, but it makes me feel a little better on a long trip knowing that I could just about rebuild the entire vehicle. Got the shovel and axe mounted. I'm not 100% happy with the straps I made but they are...

Still just doing stuff to prep for the trip. I have been trying to drive it a few times a day to get the gears broken in more also. I sorted out my tool kit. That all fits in my tool bag. Nothing super fancy, but I think this was more than I needed to rebuild the entire thing :) Once I get...

Thanks. I still have a decent list of stuff I would like to do before I leave, but nothing major. I will post pics of it all loaded up. Hopefully it won't look like it is too loaded up! I tend to be a minimalist to a point. I would like it if nothing much stuck up above the bed rail. I am sure...

Its all back together.... That was a bit of a whirlwind in the shop! -pinion preload set at just over 10 inch pounds. That took a few tries. The Nitro gear 'master' install kit didn't have enough pinion preload shims. I had extras, the D44 uses the same size pinion. -baffle, new pinion...

So what about NOT taking a cooler? It would require a non-refrigeration menu for the snow-wheeling portion of the trip. Anyone have any good, quick, meal ideas that don't require a lot of prep/cook time?

Thanks for the route suggestions. I thought about using the interstate through the Salt Lake area but just don't think it will be that much fun in a flat fender. Maybe it would work ok, but I just don't know. Generally I want to avoid the interstate at all costs. That is kinda one point about...

I drive a 1973 Series 3 109. It has a few more creature comforts compared to your Willys...but not many. -Wire up some 12V outlets before you go. Charging your phone while on the road is excellent. Check. Use the 12V outlet often. -Noise Cancelling earphones. Plug into your smartphone with...

Half and half I guess. I will be taking 3 full days for the drive up and 4-5 for the drive back down. This should leave me enough time that I can get out and see a few things.

not a ton tonight. I had some dog containment upgrades to do.... I did get a pair of setup bearings made for the Dana 30 carrier. I used the Jantz method of honing the bearings out with a flap wheel in a die grinder. It took a little bit but worked well! I also measured the free space in the...

My rough packing thoughts and list...... I don't want to look like a lost gypsy. I would prefer is gear wasn't packed to the gills with junk hanging off everywhere. I have a mild case of OCD that kicks in when it comes to stuff like this. Generally I am a minimalist when it comes to this kind...
