Thanks Adam, maybe we'll see each other in there one day. We have our 'family trip' coming up in Oct and we're going back into the Springs.
Toyotech, no worries. I still have a few ideas that will make it even better. Stay tuned!
Next project coming up, I'm getting back to my food prep...
Agreed. The functionality of the wings and the barn doors is what drew me to them. I looked at fiberglass units with Win-doors, but I really like the barn door back and the fact that I can attach to the interior framing. THe lightweight is just a bonus.
My thoughts exactly. While everyone...
Thought I'd start me another build thread just to be sure I never get anything actually done other than blogging. This rig was my daily a few years back, then the wife took it over and it became the kid hauler. She feels safe in it and likes to drive it so I relinquished the DuraMax and drove...
Man, this truck is coming along nicely. You're doing some real nice work there. I just picked up an ARE shell very similar to yours, I actually love the side wing doors and am working on a design for a flip out kitchen setup out of the drivers side. Keep up the good work, looking good.
Just got a picture CD from a friend in the mail. He snapped alot of shots of our Jeepers Jamboree trip this year. Enjoy
Headed into Buck Island Lake. Our Home for five days.
My favorite on-trail shot from this year. Thanks Billy!
Here's a nice shot of my Dads rig. TJ with M416...
Nice rig on CL looks super clean! Would make a great starting point for an American Overlander! Check it out.

Oh look I was able to copy paste a photo!
Probably because this is my truck.... it would make a great starting point for a...
Hello ExPo Community. I've finally succumed to the reality that I won't be building this into the ExPo rig I had orgionally envisioned. That idea has been replaced by the Silverado QuadCab so the Suburban has to go to fund the build. I have this currently listed on Craigslist but I'm hopeful...
Wow. Great job. Really making me look at the Wells Cargo with perverted thoughts of molestation... The axle was always the limiting factor but you made swapping it out look rather easy. Nice work.
Fabulous build my friend. Superb craftsmanship, and great attention to detail. I love the glass over wood approach, been contemplating the same type of build and ran across your thread. Great read. Well done.
Just read through this thread. Fantastic build. I'm truely impressed. As a woodworker by trade, I must say, you guys have done a magnificent job, I have no critique, other than... Well done.
Those are some nice looking sliders for $300. I doubt I could make them for that. I'm generally not a big fan of bolt on but I like the design of the attachment arms of these units, wrap around attachment and gussets. Those will hold up well.
Here's my Hi-Lux ongoing project fresh back from a Rubicon jaunt..
Solar Setup and Foxwing deployed..
And a camp setup...
Build thread going here: http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/81035-InvisibleOne-s-OverANYLand-Rockcrawler-Conversion
Here's a shot of the system setup, running the fridge and charging the battery.
For the three days we spent with engines off, my auxilliary battery never fell below 12 volts... and we ran lights all night while we drank like the fish we caught the next morning.
Speaking of the battery, I...
Solar System, Rubicon Tested.
Thanks for the kind words guys! Its been fun posting all the progress up, I can't believe I haven't ever blogged a build sooner. It's neat to go back and look at how stuff came together.
Toyo,
My solar system is actually super simple and relatively...
Thanks Tat, got to find spots for alot more...
On to tonights project. Got the electronics compartment wired up in the saddleboxes. Mounted the Dual batt monitor and solar charge controller and the inverter in one of the angled pockets. Set the stuff up so I could open the box and be able to...
Ok got a bit to post here. After last nights mad session with my buddy Jason we decided to build a support frame around the saddle boxes. I just so happened to have a few 5' lengths of 1" X 1" angle. Worked perfect and was just enough material. I was stoked to have Jason over. His welder is...
Just wanted to post a quick comment in Bobs thread here in regard to his customer service. I'm a big fan of anyone with Bob's kind of fab skills so I've been following this thread. I really liked the foxwing awning he's installed on Sarges trailer. I contacted him via PM asking about it and...
