    Sierra's 2012

Those would be absolutely amazing photos but there is just something that seems to distract from thier beauty... Love the SM, nice setup.

    InvisibleOne's OverANYLand Rockcrawler Conversion

Last night was an all nighter. One of my buddies, a fromer irocks racer drop[ped in to check the progress. We started talking about the saddleboxes and how they might get smashed on a rock coming up from under center while wheeling into the Rubicon. I felt they were tucked up high enough but...

    InvisibleOne's OverANYLand Rockcrawler Conversion

Last night I got back to the tool tray and finished welding up the changes to the bed structure. Heres a shot of the tooltray almost finished. I'm pretty happy with the space created here. I have room for over 200 pounds of battery and recovery gear under the bed between the frame rails...

    InvisibleOne's OverANYLand Rockcrawler Conversion

Thanks Mike! I still have the hardtop and a set of doors with glass so I can close up the cab easy enough. As for the back, I'm exploring a few options. One a custom softop, the other is building a fiberglass over wood shell type enclosure.

Lamontagne, Thanks for the comments! Actually, yes, I've contemplated a number of ways to 'lower' the suspention, including shorter shackles, as well as coil overs, eliptical springs, ect. The limiting factor is tire size. Running the 36" I have to keep the clearance where it's at too clear...

    InvisibleOne's OverANYLand Rockcrawler Conversion

Thanks! When I was 'Down Under' all I could think about was how much I wished I had my truck. The LC's we travelled in were very cool though.. Went out to Ayers Rock and the Olgas through Alice Springs (where there isn't a chicken to be found so I have no idea where Outback got that menu item)...

My you are a Foxy little Wing of an awning aren't you? Wow, 1000 views and nobody has anything to say. You Toyota driving Expeditionaries are a tough bunch. Oh well, at least you guys don't muck up the thread talking a bunch of crap like some other forums I've lurked. This is really more...

    '86 4runner

Leave it stock. Once you go down the road of suspention mods, you crawl into a rabbit hole that has no bottom. It starts with the lift , then the high steer, then the lockers, then transfer cases, then sliders, then, then, then you're spending your adventure fund on the rig and you never go...

    InvisibleOne's OverANYLand Rockcrawler Conversion

Boxes, a bbq, and BILLET ! Got a little tired of the tool tray, it's almost done, but man am I sick of grinding. I've been going to bed with the taste of metal in my mouth. Sick of that, glad I'm not a welder by trade. You'd think by now my welding skills would be picking up but no. So I'm a...

Very nice. I, like you, subscribe to the anti-bling. IMHO, anything chrome looks better black.

    InvisibleOne's OverANYLand Rockcrawler Conversion

It's Heatshield Sunday! I started the heat shield project with a couple quick sketches faxed off to local fab shops that could fold me up what I was looking for out of some thin aluminum. The low bid near $400, the high bid over. Just a little too rich for a heat shield so I got to building...

Before I update here I wanted to let the few of you that have already seen the first post, titled NEW MEMBER / NEW INTERESTS / NEW MODS / SAME TOYOTA that yes, I changed the name of my thread. Since I actuallly plan to document this years build, I thought I might give it a title more...

    Containerized: Retromod Global Tacoma

I've enjoyed this read very much. I find myself siding with a number of opinions here but moreso than anything simply enjoy Containerized eloquent dismissal of any nay saying by simply in most cases agreeing with said nay-sayer.. We all have opinions, some will have then said, others may...

    2001 Double Cab Build

NIce! Im pretty much doing the same exact mod right now. Funny, swing away tire carrier mania. Nice sliders too, those will pay for themselves first outing, and nothing makes you attack boulders with confidence like a good set of sliders under you. Nice work. Keep it up.

    1st Gen 4runner + Flip-pac

Very Nice. Impressed with your tenacity... and driving an hour and a half to work on your rig. You're dedicated, I'll give you that. Especially after an evening of grinding fiberglass.... Itch much on the ride home?

And so it begins.. 4Rescue.. Like I mentioned, I thought of just building a Runner, but they end up pretty small and I'd be starting from scratch, and I love this rig so I can't part with it. I got a Suburban for closed door adventures. OTBP.. No build thread, sorry. This one will have to...

What is the best Trailer/Roof Top Tent

I've been looking into this quite a bit recently. I've been impressed with the build quality of the Eezy-Awns, but the value of the Tepui. I'm probably going with the Tepui, based on cost (they're half the price) but I really like the heavy canvas of the Eezy Awn.

Some good resources for trailer builders?

The very best finish I have used is a yachting varnish from Holland called Epifanes. You can buy it on-line. It is far from cheap but worth every penny. It can be rolled on and applied over many existing topcoats. If you are willing to strip the existing finish to bare wood, I would...
