Which vehicles have you used them on, predominantly? I'm sure you've used them a lot on the Sprinter but while that's a perfect application, it wouldn't be able to even try going where I'm having concerns about taking the Rover on these.
All this tire talk makes me want to change up from the...
Hence my pondering the idea but I think I'm going to give it a try. Obviously I'll need to remind myself to stop for beauty shots in the worst possible locations to update this thread later on ;)
A. So far that's my experience too with the M/S2. They even make it feel a bit "sporty" and that's saying a lot for a 7500 lb suv on air struts.
B. You really understated that about factory/stock LR3/4 RR/RRS tires. I mean very much so. None of the stock tires are E, they're all S rated P...
That's cool to see. Thank you for the photo post! Looks essentially like their version of the Michelin. Now that I think of it, doesn't Michelin own BFG ?
I love the "detached" room! I also like your choice of the RTT opening over the rear to create a nice covered area. Does that brand, Tepui, make a lower "annex" for the underside of the overhanging RTT?
I do mean off "road" as in, using off "pavement" to get to the trails that are rated in the mountains like CO. Some of these can be mostly doable in a Subaru until the few short crux areas to get over to the other side. I'm more concerned with the crux places once you've spent 2-3 hours...
Yes, I am very aware of LT vs P and the D/E load ranges but thank you in case someone else reading isn't up on all that. I have the LT in E load range. I'm thinking I'll give them a shot on a trip but first do a couple test locations nearby to see how some mud works. Most of what I'm...
Thanks. Good to hear for the TG. It's one I see as a very good middle ground but would be interesting to test the TG2 against the BFG AT Ko2 specifically in muddy soils. I have the BFG and the Michelin though, hence the particular comparison in my post.
Yes, I think the M/S 2 are probably "ok" in snow but nothing like a real snow tire, or even an AT with more open blocks.
Separately, for serious winter use, I plan to try the Nokian Hakkapeliitta LT2 studded in 275/65x18: http://www.nokiantires.com/winter-tires/nokian-hakkapeliitta-lt2/
LEAST aggressive "off road" tires used ? Full size E rated Michelin M/S 2 ?
So we are all familiar with the common quest for the most aggressive tire for off road use that will hold up, etc. I'd like to hear from those who are not caught up in having the most aggressive tire...
So we are all familiar with the common quest for the most aggressive tire for off road use that will hold up, etc. I'd like to hear from those who are not caught up in having the most aggressive tire possible but instead one that lasts a long time and does just fine most of the time.
I started...
Interesting. I had that tire (275/65x18 Duratrac) on for a short time and do not recall there being UCA rubbing. I also had the Nitto Terra Grappler (285/60x18) on the first LR3 but these tires are different molds and have different shoulders so who knows! Vehicles are sometimes a little...
That sounds odd... How could there be such a small tire on an lr3 wheel? That's even smaller than a Disco 2 tire (255/55x18). Did you get actual lr3 wheels or lr2 or some other model by accident ?
You really need to be thinking about the big picture.... Unless you can get it on a rack with the front suspension hanging 100% at it's bottom, you will not even know the UCA is cutting the tire until it's too late to just get a refund.
Any tire shop can order tires. It's very short sighted...
