    2002 Tahoe "Expedition" build

I dont want to jinx it but your new rear end should be pretty much bulletproof. I will do the exact swap when mine goes. Were you able to retain the e brake? I'll check out your thread on the z71 forums. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

A good tablet to build by nav system off of?

Curious as to what you come up with as far as mounting. I also just recently picked up a S2 8.0 and was looking at different mounting options. Cheers!

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

Rayra, one trick I learned from a mechanic buddy of mine was to use the old brake pad to spread the load when re-compressing the caliper pistons. This is especially useful when using a c-clamp as opposed to the real compression tool. Obviously won't work on the pistons that are keyed and need...

Hey Vortec Guys! / Sierra pickup / Suburban / Yukon etc - Finally has Index!

Bummed that all these issues are popping up now. Did you check out the Moog Problem Solver parts as an alternative to AC Delco? Suppposedly much better made compared to OEM, but not sure compared to AC Delco. Was thinking of getting sleeves for now as well and then maybe upgrade everything...

good suspension upgrades for 1500 suburban z71

FWIW, I have aftermarket keys cranked up a bit and 2" spacers on the rear. Fits 285/70/17 BFG AT KO2's just fine. No rubbing, no trimming. Got the proper sized Bilstein 5100's as well.

Just an FYI. If there is any chance you think you might do the GMT900 front brakes upgrade, you will need 17's to clear the calipers and rotors. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk

    IKamper RTT, looks pretty interesting

Hopefully they will realize that when it comes to RTT, quality is everything and will probably make or break their business.

    Trail Tools

There are several manufacturers that all make similar tapes. I don't have experience with the Super Glue version, but being it is a very well known brand, I would think that they make a decent product. You might see a guy at a tradeshow booth showing the stuff off as well and may give you a deal.

Seems to be a really nice kit with almost everything you'd need. I love how everything has it's own place within the tool case. Looks to be around $200 right now but if you can get a coupon you might be able to get it cheaper.

    Jelorian's 03 Z71 Suburban Build

Boll_rig, no issues so far. No rubbing as well. Tires seem to be holding up well and still look brand new. No real noticeable difference in performance or mileage. Seems pretty close to stock. If you look at the comparison pic of my stock tires and the new ones they are pretty close. I...

    Trail Tools

Ack! I knew I forgot something major. I do carry 10mm-18mm open ended/ratcheting wrenches. Good idea on the CV axle socket. I believe it is 36mm on my rig Hayne Manual! Yes! Thank you! I have it in my garage, but never thought to keep in the rig. Makes more sense to keep and leave it...

    IKamper RTT, looks pretty interesting

Looks like they are taking pre-orders on Feb. 27, 2017 on their new model, Skycamp. http://www.ikamper.com/ Pre-order price is starting at $1950 vs full retail at starting at $2950. Probably doesn't include the annex. Seems you need quite a few guy lines to setup the canopy/annex but it is...

    Trail Tools

Do you guys carry only tools specific to your rigs or do you carry more (SAE vs Metric) in case you need to assist someone else on the trail? I carry just the basics right now. Space and weight shouldn't be too much of a concern being that most of us have full size rigs. However, I don't want...

    Jelorian's 03 Z71 Suburban Build

That is definitely an option that I have looked at. I even thought about getting the 200 series bumper as it is a little bit bigger and I think would match nicely with the Suburban. I think that the ARB Sahara bumper along with the Chevy mounting kit and a competent fabricator could make it...

    Jelorian's 03 Z71 Suburban Build

The N-Fab Pre-runner light bar mounts via 4 nuts and bolts directly to the bumper. You will have to drill the holes. I might have to get rid of it unless I can figure out a way to modify it so that my new 12k winch can mount up to the new Curt front hitch.

You are correct. 16" wheels will not fit on the front. Be mindful of the spare as well. I introduced Mr. Hoist to Mr. Angle grinder and Mr. Hoist works and feels great now! :)

    Need spare tire advice

I like mine as well. I like the ability to remove the whole setup and leave it in the garage and then installing it for the long trips. I still have my spare underneath as well. The jerry can holder is obnoxiously expensive at almost half the cost of the whole setup and all it does is hold 2...

Oh man! So sorry to hear! Glad you are all ok though! Good luck figuring out what to do moving forward. I'm sure it will be even better.
