    Point Five Ambo Build

I ran into this a few years ago mounting trailer lights on a temporary bumper, due to the OEM refrigerated box being removed. The issue stemmed from vehicle wiring that did not match up with the wiring in the trailer lights. The Upgraded Heavy Duty Modulite Circuit Protected Vehicle Wiring...

I will be interested to see how it drives with four instead of the OEM five turns LTL... Are you concerned about so many pivots or junctions of bolts, tubing, bearings, bushings, etc? Not many options with push pull steering as you know.

unpossible, VLC plays everything :-D Seriously, I have never found anything that program would not play. Do you have all of the recent codecs and such? Are your sure that the video file from the camera is good and not corrupt? Any documentation on the exact file type that is saved by that...

VLC Media Player will play almost anything. H264 and H265 are video codecs IIRC.

Put a K&N on the intake, free horsepowers and all filters come with a steeker that you can put on your van to give them free advertising :D In all seriousness, something like an air compressor intake muffler: https://www.amazon.com/Solberg-FS-06-050-Filter-Silencer-Diameter/dp/B00H43L16I or a...

Chris, have you ever used ORI struts on a conversion? It would free up some space and save a bit of weight on the front end. Each strut is a spring, a damper, a bump stop and a limiter all in one package. They support about 1900 pounds IIRC, so you may need a pair of them depending on corner...

Plastic welder or two part epoxy is your friend. Dispense with all of the pre-made barbs and screw on fittings. A flanged adapter with a low profile neck could also be bolted or bonded to the tank, thereby allowing you to adapt hoses and fittings a bit further down the line where you likely...

If you are looking to replace a pair of 7K axles, you will need something like an S110 or an S135. Depending on the year, they are rated up to 16,000 pounds GAWR. Think F550 or F650, not F350. You can get a Detroit True-Trac or No-Spin, I forget which, but no lunch box lockers or air lockers...

Ford Fleet has determined that one hour of idling is equal to the engine wear of driving 33 miles. Assume that 50% of the time is spent idling. In 200 hours, the odometer may show 2,000 miles, but we have to add the idling-equivalent hours, which in this case is 3,300 miles, i.e., 100 hours...

    Super Raptor

Sorry, misunderstood your "too fast" (speed) to be "too many rpm" (at x speed) I would certainly not want to cruise at 1400, but that sucks you have to change the diffs, after you have done so much work already. Hopefully you can sell the factory chunks or maybe find someone to swap with you...

Clear Kerosene will definitely burn cleaner than diesel, as it does not have the lubricity additives and such that other pump fuels contain for internal combustion use. Additionally, I believe that kerosene has a few more BTU per gallon than does diesel.

Are you saying that 1900 RPM is too low for highway cruising? IMO, that is exactly where you want to be. Many modern diesel engine begin their torque peak about 1600 RPM and that runs to about 1900 - 2000 RPM, then torque begins to drop off. You may also wish to look into (VE) Volumetric...

A quick search of my notes, produced the following results for 37" tire options: Hankook's DynaPro M/T is available in 37 x 12.50R18D (#3415), has above average performance for a mud tire in all situations except ice, which can be remedied with good siping. Cooper makes a Discoverer STT PRO in...

A steering Dana 60 is easily 600 pounds. Add in a bumper, winch, larger spring pack and shocks to carry this additional weight and ride better than factory and you could easily see a 500 - 800 pound increase from 2WD to 4WD. (includes removing 2WD axle but that is just a rough estimate)

It appears there is at least some suspension engineering on a new Tacoma. Arctic Trucks has been building cool stuff for decades and yes they cut the snot out of the body to fit large tires, though there are some suspension mods as well. I have a video somewhere of an F-350 being built in their...

I have no personal experience with them, but I have been told that Sure Marine is quite knowledgable about the diesel stoves and offers good customer service. It may be worth a call o a visit to do some R&D or to make sure that you get what you need for your application.

Something else to consider, for those who may not be aware is, places like gas stations, grocery stores, etc., where there are "swappable" tanks, you give an empty and take a full one, are NOTORIOUS for short filling their tanks. They say it is for safety, but there is a blow off valve for that...
