There's also the speed increase on the highway. Takes a load off the drive train and engine. All potential bonuses.
Only downside is that the tires are starting to get a bit scarce in surplus. Really the only thing that's kept me from the swap (my truck eats tires like breakfast cereal).

Have you run the Yanmar 9 HP with that 6K gen head much yet? I know that the gen head req's 13 HP gas, but I'm just wondering how the diesel is pushing it..
Actually, there is a way to do a walk-thru but it can a good amount of work.
You first have to determine placement and relocate anything in the way between cab and box. On like the LMTV/MTV trucks, it's a PITA because it involves relocating the hydraulic spare tire lowering system, cab power...
Get your Technician license (pretty simple test and all the materials are online).
These are what I run in my cars and I have one going into the LMTV, but any single/dual band by Icom, Kenwood, etc will do (just depends on your needs as to whether you want both UHF/VHF).
