A cold front was stalled out over southeastern Wisconsin this morning making for some amazing clouds and pop-up downpours over the Scuppernong Habitat Area.

Though I rarely see it in any other woods around the area, Hepatica grows in abundance here on the forest floor among the limestone. Along with the flowering silver maples, these early little blooms signify that spring is near.
