Dave, your welcome to check out my Horizon. I think Paul May is also bringing his Chaser to Moab. Mine has most of the toys except it has the older suspension. The newer suspension is worth somthing in itself.
I pulled the Engel out of the 80 and put it in the trailer and bought a new ARB...
Moody, I own two 80's a 3rd Gen 4runner and a 2006 V8 4th gen 4runner. All are built except for the 2006, that's the wifes car and all she would let me do is put better tires on it.:bike_rider:
One of my 80's is supercharged and I did it at 136K Miles. I know people who have done it at 180K...
I did check craogslist and looking for a 2000Watt gen only found a Honda that was the same price beat up as the brand new Yamaha.
I already ordered the Yamaha so checking into other generators is moot for me now.
I was looking at the Engels and they are not available in the US. Since I wanted...
Use to have a Jayco Offroad camper with a 4000 watt generator strapped to the front. Was nice having electricity, specially when the rest of the family are females. I used tips on RVnet.com to quiet it down, but was sensative to camp off on our own and only run it for a short time during the...
Since you want to keep the thules, you could make a flat platform where the thule brackets are all the way across and in the middle section you could make a hinged lid and you could get access to the entire innards with a full width opening lid in the middle. You would have to raise the RTT on...
Did you keep it plugged into shore power to keep them charged? That will certainaly extend the life of the batteries. Thinking if they sit a long time that will reduce their life
I have two Deka Blems in a Dual Battery setup, but no long life data. I keep it plugged in to keep them fully...
If it were me, I would want to make sure it was watertight. Thinking of that as a priority, seems you would need to have part of the lid fixed (Not movable) around the Thule racks. Maybe two it in two levels. Some fixed Horiztonal pieces around the thule racks to the lip, with another piece...
Not really a trailer modification per say
I bought an LED light from AT that can be attached to the camper or used on the truck as a reverse light.
I struggled with where to mount it as I envisoned being able to use it in multiple places.
Over a beer and Cigar I came up with an idea.
Why not...
Thats a nice setup.
I have a Twain heat exchanger in my 80. It was great on the Rubicon. I have it plumbed so there is an input fitting on the passenfger side of my ARB and the output is on the drivers side, both up and away from being damaged by rocks.
I bought a 2.5gpm 12 v DC pump on...
I contacted them and they said maybe August. Earlier it was suppose to be spring.
I was fortunate enough to find a new unused unit on ebay. I'll be trying it out soon
I did not take any pictures. There are clear pictures and simple instructions that Martyn sends with the sink via e-mail in a PDF.
Basically put bolt the bracket on the sink, put the sink where it goes, mark the bracket, drill the holes, bolt the bracket to the trailer and put the sink back...
I swapped out the white tank for the Black one and handpump and installed the Sink setup
Of course you take the sink off when driving :smiley_drive:
Installed real easy. Wondering what people put on the hand pump from the tank when driving
I appreciate the comments on the water tank. I ordered the new one with the sink setup as they seem to go together.
I will likely sell the old one, of figure out how to use it for my shower setup. Although 18 gallons should handle that as well.
I am still wondering if there is a way to...
Thanks for the comments.
I did not take it on any trails this time, only in and out of area BFE.
Based on a post on Mud I found out the white tanks require cleaning with bleach to prevent algae growth, so I called Martyn this morning and ordered a Black tank with Hand pump. Also got on of...
No shocks
I did stake down the walls. It got windy at night and both awnings and the walls held firm.
The length is perfect, My delaer had the manufacturer make me a set that were 4 inches longer due to the 35" tires and the height of the mounting racks.
